Well done Canon! I love the look of this new camera! The fact that I can use the lenses I already have is just a bonus!

Why Canon didn't include a 5-Axis stabilization :( I guess I'll wait for the EOS 5R mirrorless, then. ^_^ A lot of people think that mirrorless will end the DSLR's, it's like saying the Tesla's will take over the world of automotive industry and we won't need gasoline vehicles by 2030-2040 they say. Thanks Rudy, you're always AWESOME!

Love that you stayed with a full body, not a micro form factor like Sony. Too small for my hands. My biggest hang up is the single card slot, though. Shame we didn’t get that. Now it puts the buyer in a dilemma of should we invest in the R, or hold out for a possible “pro” level body that might come out later with dual slots. I would hate to buy now and find out later I should have held out for the right body in this new lineup.

IF they had IBIS. it would be an automatic win but of course something is always missing from making the camera the absolute best.

How many FPS with full continuous eye-AF enabled?

I hope Canon will use those extra contacts to make a leaf shutter lens with high speed flash sync.

It's unfortunate that Canon still chooses to not compete on the video side.

Hi Rudy, if you’re reading this and can pass on comments to Canon’s development team, I want to share that I was ready to preorder this camera until I learned from a Jared Polin initial review that the *Histogram disappears* after you hit the record button. This is unacceptable. Th histogram should stay on the screen and show a live exposure value. When this gets fixed/updated then I will order. Thanks

Well done Canon. Single SD card slot and no compatibility at all with EOS-M lenses. That is progress.

I wonder if the dual pixel autofocus works in 4K....

It's been 4 years and so much annoying bugs are still not fixed... ISO can be adjusted to any value through on screen menu controls but not with the control ring - it stops on 100 if adjusting it with command ring and does not go back to Auto. Switching to manual focus is a menu deepdive, switching Drive mode is a menu dive or series of button and dial manipulations console controller combo style. Your terrific electronic viewfinder is a pain to use because it either blanks for seconds if you have image review enabled or you have to press multiple buttons to review your images. You don't have an option of having your subject in the viewfinder at all times while the screen has the image review ready for you to chimp at whenever you choose to do so. Still no histogram over the full screen image in review mode, only a thumbnail besides the histogram - why not both????

Basically EOS R gives off an impression of a system designed by somebody who never took a picture with anything but their phone. Definitely not by a DSLR user.
This camera would have so much success if it was good old EOS 6D without a mirror in it.

I miss literally everything 6D had while using the R. An actual mode dial that gives you clear understanding of where to rotate it to get whatever mode you need. The dedicated buttons for drive, AF, ISO and metering - the button press and a dial roll to change ANY setting instantly and without taking your eye off the subject in the viewfinder, which actually has the subject in it...

Everything except the mega-multipoint AF is better on the 10 year old now ESO 6D. What a shame.

I hope canon pay Rudy well, because he alone sells tens of thousands of their cameras.

As a sony user who used to use canon and wishes they would give us a non-crop 4k, this is sad.

Honestly the new fuji xt3 camera, if the specs are true, look amazing! 4k 60fps for s35 sensor. I would add that to my sony line if it has 4k 60fps.

Canon has more than enough money to invest in their department. At some point it doesn't matter how many youtubers you pay to sport your gear, eventually they get tired of it too, or the fans/consumers call them out!

4k @ on 30fps? Fail. One card slot? Fail. No ibis? Fail. Cropped 4k video? Fail. $2300 body only? Fail...While some of the specs are great, the one’s they failed at are HUGE. I’m a Canon user that was waiting on this announcement in hopes of staying with Canon. But nope. I’ll wait to see how the Panasonic ff mirrorless is. If its a fail too then Sony it is.
