Discovering Canon’s New EOS R System

As a Canon guy, I am very underwhelmed. This had the opportunity to go above and beyond and they're still afraid of cannibalizing their own DSLR lineup. My 5DIV is holding up but Sony is killing it. Even the Nikon has 47.5 megapixels. I'm sure this is a fine camera, but they seem like they're greedily late to the game.

Hi! Greetings from India. Thank You for all the work you put in. I have a question, if you could help me with. I own EOS R and use it with EOS Connect app for IOS. The problem is when shooting video I try and click on the I phone screen to change the servo focus, it does not change. While it works if I am using any other focus option except Movie Servo Focus. Is there a way I can fix it. Earlier I was using 5D Mark 4 it was working great. Thank You for reading.

I would buy it but this camera has too many dealbreakers...
Only one SD Card slot
Probably no Dual AF in 4K
Old, small, low capacity batteries
No 60fps in 4K and even worse no 120fps in 1080. And their pathetic excuse is that you can shot 720p in 120fps. Psssst, hey Canon it's 2018 already...
Don't get me wrong, I am a huge Canon fan but this is just sad. Besides that, the price point is way to high for the limitations you get with that cam.

But it's not all worse.
Features I like:
+Flip screen
+Body design
+OLED top display
+Best UI in a camera system, anyone can use a Canon.

They probably really intent to let its user to move on to other systems until one day Canon release its trump card and make everyone regrets their decision for switching.

Therefore, they will switch back by purchasing all the new Canon system all over again, thus doubling the profit.

I believe Canon actually possess all that advanced features we wanted. It's very easy for them to squeeze it all in a single camera. They have their own reason.

I really wish you begins to understand what people want. Throw the upcoming "pro" model. And do a pro with IS.
If it takes a few more months, it's definitely worth it.
Show that you understand, already at Photokina, you win many points.
Because I think that you today know that there are other camera manufacturers who offer so much more for less money?
And I will never buy more than one camera. right now it looks like you push me to Sony.

For Photography this will be a great camera same as the 5d mark 4... downside is single card slot... its nice to know that canon is moving forward... for now ..still sony will get my money... cross finger for ur next camera...
