Annie Jacobsen is one of my new all-time favorite Authors. I've already finished Operation Paperclip and now I'm just starting on Area 51. I hope to be able to read all of her books. She has a singular gift for eloquently describing historical epochs and she's also a very gifted orator. around 13:04 interviewer says " early technology is always a little tricky" . Well your everyday person, not a techie, when we get our first smartphone many times we want to throw it against the wall it seems so tricky to use .

"They Live" must see movie, subliminal brainwashing of society ( to "produce consume, make babies, watch tv, "stay asleep", don't question authority, etc " ) starring Roddy Piper . The first half is great . most of the rest of it is a non stop shoot em up genre film . And what a waste of time was that 20+ minutes of Roddy and Friend fight to get his friend to wear the special sunglasses which reveal the brainwashing words behind signage and text and tv . Oh yeah, The special sunglasses also reveal "the evil skull heads" behind everyday face without the special sunglasses . It is great dystopian anti ultra capitalism, anti imperialism, anti surveillance and anti totalitarian film and the second half of film i guess can be enjoyed as an action film .

39:20 if autofocus cameras came out of Darpa then they are a often a failure for many of us . In the close ups, an example here, the focus is on the sign behind her and Annie is a bit out of focus

Awhile back I read an article about this financial and corporate sectors in some countries major cities (which I will leave unnamed ) which uses an ages old "technology" so their transactions and messages won't be intercepted by the internet or wireless . Don't laugh, but they attach small but big storage capacity thumb drive like devices to homing pigeons to carry information back n forth .

How can you know what countries like china and russia have when it comes to exotic secretive weapons..? Countries like those can use most of their national resources for the development of weapons... just like the USA does. How can you know for sure the USA is leading with all technologies..including the biological? It is the worst mistake you can make to underestimate your enemy..
