Annie Jacobsen, 'Operation Paperclip'

Author Annie Jacobsen presents a fascinating topic from her new book, Operation Paperclip, and takes questions from the audience. This event was recorded February 26, 2014 at Politics & Prose bookstore in Washington, D.C.

My late mother served in ww2 and was stationed in Nuremburg after the war .She later told me that most of the trials were for low level and unimportant nazis..and the big boys got away scotfree and with secret allied help. When America advanced very quickly, she said that America had gobbled down what had been left of Eve's apple that had caused the fall from Eden. She very bitterly said that in fact the Nazis sacrificed Germany and took over America ergo : They were the true victors .She had worked in US HQ in London and knew the Kennedys Roosevelds and Generals Patten and Eisenhower. Not much really surprised Mother in last 60 years of her life about the Evil that has exponentially grown since then. Salute to truth tellers, then and now.

My father was at Dunkirk, Normandy Operation OverLord at Gold beach and went onto Operation Market Garden as a Royal Engineer. He reached the Arnem bridge and saw little children starving in the roads and villages. I am so glad he istn alive to see the awful state Europe is now in- the total depravity of the goodness and greatness of England, its morals and the way we have treated our heritage. Most people have no idea how the world really works and whats about to come on this world today. It would pay us to stop playing games and getting our eyebrows and nails done and look at whats really going on

Unfortunately, a lot of people don’t want to know the truth. They want to be kept in the dark and be sheep to follow instead of questioning anything. I’m happy for her doing the research and getting everything out there.

The Germans spent time in Antarctica prior to the war ending, as did the Americans, operation high jump and fish bowl. The technological boom came after these visits. Not long after the treaty was established to stop or control expeditions to the pole. So, what else is there that made this place so important?

During my healthcare training we were tasked to pick a surgical procedure & write an essay. It was the hardest part if my training when I realised that so, so many surgeries( drugs etc.) were developed by Nazi experiments! I was 18 & in shock! We still had surgical instruments named after Nazis. Since they have been adapted & named after the new inventor. Once qualified, when I started teaching I always included these facts to students. So they would remember the poor souls who were experimented on!

I have watched almost all of this video.
I have known a lot about Operation Paperclip for many years, and I am left nonplussed that Annie managed to miss covering perhaps the most enduring part, or legacy, of Operation Paperclip. I refer of course to ‘mind control’, and the Nazi psychological and psychiatric staff who were let out under paperclips (this operation got it’s name ‘Operation Paperclip’ from the method of discretely marking the files of individuals by placing of a paperclip on the top cover, which then resulted in their being, discretely from the Allies, allowed to the USA) title of this operation.
These people it is now public knowledge were taken in by the CIA to continue mind control experiments under the code name MK-Ultra.
The seriousness of her omission arises from the reasonably publicly known fact that this mind control experiment, that has carried horrifically cruel experiments on human citizens of Canada and some Americans throughout late 1940’s, throughout the 1950’s, up to the public cessation of MK-Ultra experimentation and research. The moral point is that MK-Ultra continues today, and has it seems spawned many mass manipulation techniques that are secretly employed today against the human population of the world.
Very often, it is what is not told, what is omitted, that tells the more relevant part of the story.
Certainly, the most relevant aspect of Operation Paperclip is the secret MK-Ultra programme that continues today.

They found a labor camp in Belgium near the end of the war, and hardened soldiers wept at what they saw. Humans can be so cruel to each other. Young people today aren't being told of these horrors.
