Actually the first drone was going to used in WW2 Joe Kennedy Jr was to fly a plane to German . Once it got so far they had put a remote on the plane he was supposed to jump out . But the remote didn’t work so he stayed and caused him to die . But in my mind that was form of the first drone remote planes.

The Army Air corps was working on a remote controlled B-17 bomber during World War 2, and John F Kennedy's older brother, Joseph Kennedy Jr., was a pilot in the program. The plan was to pack the aircraft full of explosives and flight remotely from a following aircraft, but he crashed into a mountain during a training mission.
