Thank you Wayne for this info. I would lie to add that if you’re dealing with sex/porn addiction to PLEASE ensure you have a qualified therapist (CSAT & APSAT) who is not only experienced and certified to help with the addicts but ALSO is partner sensitive.

The right therapist with a specialty in infidelity and trauma does matter! Yes, they may charge a little more however think of it like paying for a few flower arrangements versus the cost of possibly losing the love of your life. Choose wisely!

I have a two part comment/question. First is that my husband and I have had great difficulty finding expert help. The three therapists we have seen definitely were caring and tried, with the last by far our best experience (emotionally focused couples therapy). I am an MFT and still have had trouble finding a good fit even with connection to therapy resources. We did EMS weekend in August 2019 and it was a turning point but we needed long term support and help beyond that. The videos and material at AR have helped me maintain some sanity through the past 4 years. I suspect we are very difficult to work with and I have given up. I don’t know where else to turn except to end the marriage. We are no longer seeing a therapist and have agreed to a Legal Separation but I fear it will only be a step closer to actual divorce. My second comment is a question. Will AR ever consider a training or certification program for therapists? I don’t know if our marriage would have survived with additional long term help or not, but I know that more knowledge and focused training are needed for therapists who truly want to help those affected by infidelity. Thanks for all the videos and resources you provide!

Where can I find an infidelity specialist? My wife needs an individual therapist, and we need a marriage counselor. Our current one, sadly, does not help. Can you offer resources to find a couple if them for us? My unfaithful wife hurts me all the time, because, deep down she hurts, but won't admit it. I am taking harboring hope right now.

Should the individual therapists for both spouses also be experienced in infidelity?

I'm in Massachusetts and don't have a lot of money for a weekend or even online ems. I can't find any counselors here that specialize in Infidelity. Any recommendations for out of state counselors who maybe do virtual sessions? We are desperate for help.
