How to Clone Your OS Hard Drive Using the Free NIUBI Partition Editor

If you need to clone your Windows OS\system drive on to another computer, you can use the free NIUBI Partition Editor software to make a clone of your operating system to a different hard drive. Or you can use it to clone a drive that does not contain an operating system.

We tried the migration option and ended up with extra partitions that were assigned drive letters. We were able to remove all of the drive letters except for the one on the EFI partition. You can check out the difference between a clone and a migration by watching the migration video here.

Here is a link to a video for software that will allow you to rearrange your hard drive partitions so you can extend your new drive to use all of the space if you run into that problem when cloning to a larger drive.

Tried the migration method first. I removed all drives except the one I am trying to get the OS transferred to. Doesn't get any farther than the Windows loading screen. Tried this method and am still getting the same thing. I let it run for hours (while we went out to dinner) to see if it just needed more time, but came home and it was still on the black screen with the blue Windows symbol and the continuous rotating loading symbol. WHY?

Coned mine and my PC wouldn't boot(i didn't remove the m.2 drive). I had to remove the destination drive to get my PC to boot.

The migration tool straight up didn't work for me, was getting "Required device isn't connected or can't be accessed"
Trying the cloning tool and hoping that somehow works. If that fails I'll just do a fresh install. Trying to revive an inlaws PC by putting an SSD in it. Don't feel like helping them get all their weird programs back so I was hoping to clone the drive.

press start and then come back literally 2 days later, just to take a drive, and take the unallocated space and merge it. 2 tb drive. 990gigs used, 1tb unallocated, no space in the middle. 2 days.

Every time I try to clone my system drive on a WD 500GB blue I get an error, I don't know how to solve this.

Doesn't work. Getting an error code 3705 using a new ssd. The ssd has been used before so it's a good one.
