Joshua, it seems you are at odds with the vast majority of YT commenters about the D7500; they're all vehemently disappointed with it. Perhaps this is because you're not a Nikon shooter. I however agree with you. I'm coming from a D7000 which is 7 years old, so the D7500 is definitely offering some improvements. The features Nikon have stripped from both the D500 and D7200 in the D7500 are things I rarely or don't use at all, so I don't care. Granted there are numerous features removed from the D7500 that don't appear to make any sense; features that are even in my D7000, so it's very strange. None the less I'll be getting the D7500 when available because it has all the improvements that I need in an upgrade.
I think the problem with a lot of photographers, both advanced and beginner, is folks tend to place too much stock in spec-numbers rather than how well it can actually perform for a photog with real technical and artistic skills, assuming they have such skills. If not, then no amount of impressive looking specs are going to help.
