I hope you didn’t just buy a new monitor, because Dell Alienware’s new QD-OLED AW3423DW is HERE and it’s giving everything else in this price range a serious run for its money. It's high refresh rate (175Hz) , GSYNC HDR, and OLED. Have we achieved a zero-compromises monitor?!

From what I've seen, Linus has a consistent record of not allowing sponsorships and investments to affect his opinion on a given piece of hardware. He's also been good about owning up to it when he makes a mistake.

The fact this was done in a very bright room..pretty impressive

Props to Alienware and Samsung for charge accordingly to production cost, since their product is truly unique they could charge whatever they want and people would have to pay. If it was Apple's or Razer they would charge 5k claiming their all new super ultra max retina tech is better than everyone's.

I'm so used to displays like this costing $3-4, 000 that I was blown away by the price. Obviously it's expensive but not "prohibitively!"

This would be cool in a VR headset. The immersiveness would be insane.

You know the tech is impressive when Linus has positive opinions on an Alienware product.

I love when monitors like this come out. It has a Domino effect on panels below it. Prices come down, picture quality goes up per dollar.

I have this monitor and it is shockingly good. Like Linus said..."strobe like clarity". Maxes out at 175hz but feels like it's running at 500hz+ on an IPS. I have the latest 1440p 240hz ELMB Fast IPS gaming monitors and this thing destroys them. I can't believe the price it sells for. It's an absolute steal. Easily should be priced at 2-3x higher for what you get compared to the best gaming IPS panels. Inky jet blacks, infinite contrast ratio, zero black light bleed, zero IPS glow, zero matte screen Vaseline smear effect. The leap from the best IPS to this monitor feels truly evolutionary.

Honestly, I was expecting a price of something more like $2, 000 USD. The fact it's only just a few hundred dollars more than an equivalent IPS monitor is actually the most impressive part of this product

Me watching this on my shitty work laptop screen: "Oh wow, I bet that looks amazing"

Gotta love where Alienware went with this monitor. I have the previous gen 3440x1440 Alienware monitors (x2) and people have always bashed on ultrawide not having correct coloring, having screen tearing, or light bleed. I've always sworn by these monitors as an avid gamer, and I can say I'm still being impressed daily by the ingenuity of their upgrades. Keep showing me good news, Linus!

Funny thing about this video, although I am fully aware this is the best OLED monitor on the market right now, it just shows you an OLED in a ridiculously bright room, so we perceive a really dim screen, catching all reflexions and blacks looking gray. So please next time film this from the dark cave that all of us rarely crawl out of.

I was always worried about OLED for gaming but after seeing a 3 year warranty that even covers burn in, makes me a bit less worried about it now.

30% YIELD RATE?!? good grief I think I've figured out why OLEDS have taken so long to get into the consumer market

The 3 year burn in coverage sold me. Dell is known for half assed coverage in the first place, but on a product this good, competitively priced, with that level of assurance, I can't wait to be in the market for a display like this when they come down in price and I'm more financially well off. Super exciting!

Me watching on my TN panel: "Oh wow that hdr is poppin what the heck"

The key to good HDR is how well the game was mastered for it. After getting an HDR panel I was pretty underwhelmed with most games. There are a few I've played that really look nice though.

Linus: WOW! Look at this screen! It's crazy!

Me: Yeah! This YouTube compression at 480p is beautiful!

I have just ordered one for £724 off Amazon in the UK. I will have it tomorrow and i honestly can't wait, I wasn't sure about the curve or the glossier display but i've wanted this monitor since you released this video and i done more research into it. I could have waited for the DWF but honestly at this price it was too difficult to say no. I currently have an LG gl850-B wich is 1440p 144hz and it's a great monitor, I don't see 4k as a worthwhile improvement due to how much more power it takes to run so i could justify 3440x1440 and have a 3080 ti to run it. I don't game heavily and may have issues with desk space but if i really love this when i get it and the contrast and response time improvements are that much better than i will just buy a vesa mount. Moving from IPS to QD OLED seems like it will be a worthy upgrade.

I just love how most of us are sitting here using our normal lcd monitors looking at this going: "wow, that looks so good" I bet many of us are even using tn panels.
