My first truck was a cateye V8. It was definitely a nice truck and had around 250K miles and still ran amazingly but the rust got to it so I had to get rid of it as it was costly to fix the rusted parts. Get one without rust and you’re golden!

I think it’s crazy that a tacoma isn’t on this list. Very reliable first truck to get. Mine has over 400, 000kms and is still running like new

You can never go wrong with a cateye i still have mine got it at 170, 000 and currently has 320, 000 still running like a champ

A family friend sold me a 08’ F-150 V8 with 75, 000 miles for $3, 000. He didn’t want it anymore and didn’t feel like talking with the dealership people.

Got my first truck almost 2 years ago when I was 19, 2001 ram with the 5.9 magnum, only payed $1500 for it and still going strong even when I lost a fight with a metal pole, those magnums are bulletproof and you can find them a lot cheaper than the 3rd gens with the hemis something that'll be more in the price range

Good list. My first truck was the Toyota t100. Tundras were still to expensive back then. Still have the truck 10 years later and she’s still running strong even tho she doesn’t get ran as much anymore

Im 15 and bought an 03 2500hd with a 6.0 from minnesota this year with 130, 000 miles and it had very little rust. Best purchase ever!!

I’d recommend the 1st gen tundra I had bought one for my first truck but had sold it to my dad and it’s still running amazing with over 200k miles
