IC3D and the US Marine Corps Toys For Tots have partnered for a 4th year, to produce, and donate 3D printed toys on Christmas! This is a great cause, and a lot of fun to participate in! In preparation for going into mass production mode, I am documenting how I go about deciding how far I can push my printers to make the best use of time, while still producing good parts. Will these exact settings work for your printer? Probably not. But the process will!

This is a longer video, but goes through the steps from start to finish, and has multiple sample prints along the way. I hope you find it useful, and please share any tricks you might have as well in the comments!

Information about the 3DPrintingToysForTots campaign:

The truck model can be found at Cults3D:

This video is not sponsored or affiliated with IC3D, just a really cool program I want to draw extra attention to.

Hey! Did I miss a setting? Think there is more that could be done? Let me know! Also, often time savings can be had on smaaler parts by simply printing more than one at a time. Slicers can slow done printing if they think there isn't sufficient cooling time between layers, so adding another part adds time between layers, and could decrease total time per part.

Very nice video! As someone who wrote the PrusaSlicer documentation, it warms my heart to see someone else using it and appreciating it. :) We are considering adding somewhere a list of good user-made tutorials, yours should definitely make it to the list. :)

This video is more helpful than thousands of other videos big names in youtube are making. You had a goal, you described the challenge abs you provided detailed explanation on how you went about it using practical abs easy to follow steps. I subscribed hoping that you can make series of these videos, please do! I'm a fan now abs this is how i learn no one else does it like you did here! Big kudos man and thank you!

Well I learned a lot more about Prusa Slicer thanks to your video. I am really starting to dig into the settings because I’m tired of throwing away more complex prints that fail. Definitely saving this video for the future.

Wow, I learned more in that 41 minutes, over the last few hours perusing through the Prusa website!

Maybe I’ll even be good enough to print some of those toys for this coming Christmas.

Thank You!

Thank you SO much for taking the time to put this together and share it - I learned a bunch of useful tips and can't wait to apply them. You have EXCELLENT teaching skills and Prusa should pay you (at least in free printers/filament lol) to do more like this. I instantly subscribed and I'm on my way to checking out your other videos.

Quick Update - We shipped off our Toys!! I printed over 350 of these toy trucks, and over 1300 total toys! My most printed toy was the Flexi Mini Octopus. This is a challenging print, and one I think I will dive into next.
