@11:54 Elon denied a refresh. This was accurate. If a refresh happened 18 months later that would not necessarily represent a change of plans. Elon was not saying there would never be a refresh but that as of July 2019, none was planned.

I have never seen any news about the Tesla phone from a source that I trust. Unless the phone were a Linux phone that made the privacy and security of the user the main focus, I would not be interested anyway.

All I want to see from starlink is a nomad access point to use on the go with my computer. So lightweight, usb-c powered (10-15W or so) and small enought to go in a laptop bag. I just wait for this to live my perfect hobo life (plan for a round the world trip on a motorcycle)

The new UI that Tesla pushed out recently was a huge downgrade. Everything is less intuitive and takes more steps than the previous version.
Few people outside of hardcore Tesla fans want a Tesla phone. A mature Starlink system may change that. (Many years from now)

I like the idea but…when you buy a Tesla, you know it’s a new company with new cars and need to understand there will be some growing pains. Like service availability, software bugs, delivery times, etc. but with phones, I think the customers would expects a more bulletproof product as they have had those options for some time now. The disappointment level might be more volatile and do too much damage to Tesla’s reputation. Just one guy’s thoughts. Now destroy me like a good Internet…

Once could argue that Elon/Tesla not broadcasting Model S refresh in 2019 so as not to Osborne the S line while refresh pending. But this example not likely applicable to a "Model Pi" because there is no previous Tesla phone to Osborne. Still, the whole notion of viral vids pushing a ridiculous rumor is exactly what's wrong with the internet. But then again, Tesla taking it to Apple would be satisfying to watch. And yeah, I'd buy one.

My 1st smart phone was the original IPhone in 2007. I have only had an iPhone since. My first EV is a Tesla and if Tesla and i love it. IF Tesla comes out with a phone I would absolutely switch from an IPhone to Tesla without a doubt.

Autoplay played one of those videos while I was driving and all of the features that were listed off just seemed too outlandish. It had me for a bit, but then started talking about "mars coin" and I was immediately put off of the idea. It just went downhill from there. Glad to see someone address this.
