I absolutely adore Mr.Loverman and Barry is one of my favorite fictional characters! Actually I love each of the main characters so much! The audiobook is also great! I am also looking forward to Joshua Cohen’s book! ♥️

I’m reading Empire of Pain at the moment - it’s very fascinating. Patrick Radden Keefe’s previous book, Say Nothing is fantastic too.

Mr. Loverman is an absolute treat. I smiled the whole time I was reading it. Empire of Pain will infuriate you but it’s an extremely well-written and thoroughly researched work and an important one. Nights When Nothing Happened was a bit haunting and quickly. It wasn’t my usual style of novel but I liked it. And I’m most interested in Peterdown. It sounds like something I would really like.

Wolf Den sounds amazing as well as Yes Yes More More, I absolutely love the title! ❣

Yes Yes More More sounds fun but also intriguing - i feel like pleasure is rarely treated as a theme, as though it's too trivial compared to apparently loftier things like love or tragedy

Such a great haul. I'm interested in The Melting now and The Harpy. Peterdown sounds a lot like one of the Elizabeth Gaskell's, Cranford I think. I'd very likely be tempted by The Ghost of Frederick Chopin.

I just bought “mr. loverman” too!! Also, your hello intro makes me feel a calming familiarity after being a subscriber and viewer for a few months😌

I mostly read literary fiction, but Empire of Pain was mind boggling. I loved it. Incredible storytelling in addition to once-in-a-while level reporting. He just airs them out completely. A must read

I have heard nothing about The Wolf Den before this video and I am SO happy you turned me on to it! Can't wait to pick up.

I’ve just got into books of essays, and for the past few months I have been starting my day with a coffee and an essay. I’ve actually been browsing for my next collection this afternoon, so I shall have to check these two out!

Ooh, I wonder what the international reception will be for the Lize Spit. It was loved by most readers in Belgium, even got some people back into reading and thus turned into a huge bestseller here. That's probably the reason why I haven't read it myself yet, it was so ubiquitous here that I didn't feel compelled to give in to the hype!

I think you’re going to love The Harpy!

I have the Ghost of Frederic Chopin (in French) waiting for me on one of my many TBR piles. Thank you for reminding me of it, you made me want to pick it up soon! Also looking forward to hearing your thoughts on The Wolf Den, that sounds exactly like something I could like and might be a good summer read.

The NYT Book Review podcast discussed Empire of Pain a couple of weeks ago, and I was really shocked by the story, so look forward to hearing what you make of it in due course. I hadn’t heard of Peterdown but that sounds like a really interesting premise, so will look out for that. Enjoy your haul :)

I loved Circe, which makes me intrigued The Wolf Den. The Melting also sounds interesting. Just picked up In Memory of Memory on your recommendation. Excited to read it! Thank you for sharing :)

I read Mr Loverman and I enjoyed it. It was such a light hearted read. I haven’t read Girl Woman Other and this is the best start for me.

Empire of Pain sounds so interesting, definitely up my alley, can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it. Love listening to authors speak about their books, it usually changes my approach to a book.

I loved The Harpy. Completely different from her first novel, but a lot of fun. I’ve been looking at the Kei Miller for a little while now. I’ll be interested to hear your thoughts. I will probably do the Patrick Radden Keefe on audio as it is read by the author. He had a tremendous podcast series last year called Wind of Change. Highly recommended!
