We'll be diving into your options for buying parts, why you should buy parts from Tesla (not 3rd parties) - with pricing - and how to actually order them.

At the end of the video, we'll be replacing some parts I broke, to show just how easy it is to do it yourself.

Another option is to find a local body shop, or a mechanic - any business that works on cars - and ask them to order parts for you from Tesla. They will need to create an account with Tesla (it may take 2 weeks to get approved) and Tesla will ship parts directly to them. Offer them a nice tip this service.

Being a Bmw owner, parts catalog, wiring diagrams, repair manuals and everything you need is avaleble online, diagnostic software is easy to get and use with a cheap cable. In my country i have 3 different part stores that sells orginal parts so getting parts is really easy, at the same time i can buy cheaper parts from different countries.
The point with all this is that im hesitant to buy a Tesla as im so used to have all this info avaleble. I fix my own cars so thats a big deal. The fact that they actually have a parts catalog is pretty nice! But would be nice if prices was avaleble there also.

Would be really cool with a video with prices for shockabsorbers/air suspension (doesnt the X has air susp.?), brake parts and different suspension parts, just to show what it will cost to maintain it if you do it your self!
Im starting to get a bit interested in a X.. But im really not sure, i do love my bmw's.. 😛

You only find out the prices when you pick up the parts at the service center? Or is there a way to see prices prior to submitting the order request?

This is awesome! But if it says, "Over the Counter" does that mean I can't buy it? It's just a window regulator.

The most important part has been skipped thru. After u send the "Something else" service request, what then? They quote u prices and u agree and they charge u first, then get the parts at the nearest service location and tell u when they are ready? Or deposit? Or how?
I did it once for a drive unit oil filter. They message back saying they don't sell parts.

Any external body part that is painted is not over the counter. I damaged the skull cap and I could get an unpainted one but they could not give it to me in the red trim. I suppose that is expected but...

Hello, thanks for sharing! I need to buy front bumper and fender, but I need to ship the parts outside USA. If I order the parts with the app, do you know if I can organize a shipping company to pick up parts in Tesla service center?

After that part, it took me to service center appointment. They cancelled it and then moved appointment to internal bodyshop. Do you just pick up the parts from there or do they send it to you?
