You need to keep an eye out for anything on your car that doesn't seem right. In 1983, I bought a new car, and apparently from the start it had an alignment issue. It didn't pull left or right, just had either a slight toe-in or toe-out condition. The only thing I ever noticed was that, on hot pavement, in a tight turn at very low speed, I would get a little high-pitched squeal. I mentioned this once when taking the car in once for multiple issues, but it was never acknowledged in the service record, and nothing was ever done. Then, a year later, on an icy stretch of highway, I went into a spin. No real damage. I just spun around a couple of times, restarted the car, and drove away as if nothing had happened. One of the strangest experiences I ever had, all in a matter of seconds. Alive, not alive, it all hung in the balance, and then it was over. Well, I was sure there was an alignment problem, and in the next few weeks I got it remedied. But this was a year later, and by then I had moved to a different town, so there was no going back to the previous repair place (which was the dealer BTW, as these were warranty items). Not that I really had the stomach for it anyway at that point.

The point being, I guess, there are some things you can't just let slide, and you need to be alert for when that happens.

TTTT one thing I really have always disliked about using the telephone is that you don't have a record of everything said. Even if you could somehow record both ends of all phone calls, it can be a real hassle to go through all that audio and find what you need.

Like other comments pointed out some service centers or dealerships can vary in quality.
Take my late Audi. My door lock actuators for the drivers door failed, so it was repaired…however the shop punctured my airbag housing by accident. Okay. Came back 2 days later and went on my way, until I hit the road and the door rattled. Immediate turn back to the shop, and apparently they left clips off…sigh. It was all resolved eventually.

Another time I took the car in for a high pressure clean out of the exhaust system which was building up carbon causing the sensors to trip the..secondary air bank error. After the cleaning I noticed an odd rattle under the car…my local mechanic noticed the exhaust assembly was not secured correctly. That was fixed super fast.
Shit can happen.
My Nissan from ages ago…nightmare. Service centers are good and some are bad. It happens to us all.

The shop is only as good as its technicians. Doesn’t matter what the name is, you could have a brand name with terrible techs and managers and the local tire shop across the street would have skilled techs and good managers.

Almost sounds like you need another kind of mechanics. This SMTOE just hearing about it.

Unprofessional service...a waste of your own time! Seems like their technicians need to be called on the carpet...and perhaps re-trained 😮
