Love this scene. Two men learning to reconcile, let it all go, and move on. Like men are supposed to do.

You don't have to like someone in order to gain their respect. These two actors portrayed this very well.

one of the most underrated movies of all time.. both Denzel and Gene are 100% top notch and the other actors are pretty good as well. Great Movie.

This ending was very interesting. Usually guys like Ramsey in movies are villains until the end. Here Ramsey is shown like a much more sympathetic and just man. Essentially this was: Im too old and nearly doomed us all. This young officer saved the day and showed leadership, competence and courage. Its time to pass the torch.

It’s hard to say what’s best about this incredible movie… but Zimmer’s score is a strong contender

Look at Washington's form as he descended down the stairs. They made a point he walked properly like a Navy officer.

This movie doesn't get enough credit. Best soundtrack ever, two fine leading roles. And putting their all into it.

1:53 Only Hans Zimmer can make a scene of an old man walk with his dog epic🔥

I love how he admitted he was in the wrong for the nuclear situation by agreeing with him on the horses. But you knew what they were talking about because I am sure you wouldn’t talk about something like that in the open.

It was an honor to have served... MM1/SS, US Navy Nuclear Submarine Force, 1987-2008, retired... miss it sometimes...

This was a darn magnificent movie. Denzel Washington and Gene Hackman were at the top of their games playing their characters.

This is a goose bumps film. The Navy was my road not taken and this "make-believe", if it can be called that, simply added to my sense of loss. I was in Singapore in 1969. Tried to exchange U.S. money for the local currency. I was 23 -- a Peace Corps volunteer in neighboring Malaysia on leave and not yet savvy to the ways of the world. The money changer explained with a smile that my U.S. dollars were worth less that visit. Why? I asked. He pointed to the harbor and a U.S. aircraft carrier. Majestic is not the word. I'll never forget the moment, even if my U.S. dollars wouldn't buy as much that particular visit.

This movie has one of the most incredible sound tracks. It’s Hans Zimmer and team at its very finest. I’ve seen him in concert with a full orchestra and it is truly an experience of a lifetime.

The mutual respect is there. I am sure a man like Lt Commander Hunter consulted Captain Ramsay often. Ramsay was glad to assist.

What a masterpiece this movie is. Def one of my favourites. Gene Hackman and Denzel Washington are a lethal duo! Plus the score is amazing, kudos to the great Hans Zimmer!

That salute means a hell of a lot more, than most people would understand.
