In this video, I'm going to cover what you need to know about adaptogens. 

What are adaptogens? 
An adaptogen is usually a plant or herb that helps increase the ability to adapt and avoid damage from harmful factors. The Latin word for adaptogen is "adaptare," which means to adjust or fit. The greek word for "GEN" means produced by or generated by. So, an adaptogen generates the ability to adjust to stress.

Stress is something that threatens homeostasis.

Homeostasis is a steady state of equilibrium. You have different normal values that are generated by different mechanisms that control homeostasis, which is your internal ability to adapt to the environment—to keep things normal. But, when you have stress, it can push some of these factors out of balance. For example, when you're stressed, cortisol goes up. In this situation, an adaptogen can help bring that back to normal. If your immune system is suppressed, adaptogens may even be able to help bring it back to a higher level.

The four best adaptogens:

1. Siberian ginseng
2. Panax ginseng 
3. Rhodiola 
4. Ashwagandha 

My favorite adaptogen is ashwagandha. 

Ashwagandha can be good for:

• Inflammatory conditions like arthritis 
• Anxiety
• ADHA
• Stress relief
• Lowering cortisol 
• Adrenal stress

Dr. Berg, 58 years of age is a chiropractor who specializes in Healthy Ketosis & Intermittent Fasting. He is the author of The New Body Type Guide and other books published by KB Publishing. He has taught students nutrition as an adjunct professor at Howard University. He no longer practices, but focuses on health education through social media.

Sleep is a great adaptogen. I like a cold bedroom. I shut the hvac vent. My bedroom got down to 62F. I slept nine hours. Now I'm a brand new man.

Today stress is created by ourselves. I realized that I actually wanted to be stressed or allowed it as I had my life goals as I unconsciously was prioritieseing this before my happiness. When you say that happiness comes first you start making different choices. Also Ive started with a strong blend of reishi, Siberian ginseng and ashwaganda which really speeds up the process of recovering from years and years of stress and anxiety.. all problems have a solution so make sure that you actually know what you want and then implement the changes.

I'm making a lot of chicken soup with carrots, celery, pepper, garlic, bay leaves, etc. Always helped me with flu when I was a kid.

Wow! I can’t believe I was just checking out the ingredients of a drink that a friend put me into a few months back. Its Ionix Supreme. It’s worked so well but I just needed to know if it’s good for my 18 year old daughter to take it. I few minutes ago I found out it’s an adaptogen with a few of the foods listed in this video. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw your notification show up and of course I had to comment. Now I know I’m onto a good thing! Thank you as always

When it comes to ashwagandha I recommend it as the herbal tea form. As for pills it's better to get it as ksm-66, sensoril, or the new shoden form. As regular ashwagandha is not as effective as the concentrated types.

I've never experienced any effect from herbal medicine, but I have benefited from some vitamins and minerals.
