I've been battling with general anxiety disorder and ADHD since forever. I am 38 years old male now, married with two kids.
I took SSRI (Zoloft) for 23 years to battle my anxiety (general anxiety often perpetuated by my ADHD thought processing). It helped but numbed me down, I got "flat emotions", indifference, apathy and sexual problems as well. Wellbutrin add-on was beneficial for the sexual problems but it didn't take away the emotional flatness. Later on, I was diagnosed with ADHD (with out hyperactivity) and started vyvanse (a live safer, but needs to be cycled right in order to avoid tolerance).
I have now weaned off the SSRI, but the withdrawal was horrible. I stumbled off on aswandganda and it made my weaning off 1000x more tolerable. I am now SSRI-free is since 1 year, and I take 500 mg aswandganda extract each day. Couldn't be more happier. So 500 mg aswandganda, 150 mg wellbutrin and 50 mg vyvanse (one day per week I dont take, due to avoiding tolerance, during summer vacation I also skip vyvanse) is a very stableing protocol for me against ADHD symptoms and anxiety.

Congratulations for the scientific and based information. I'm a professor in Canada and I'm happy that a YouTube channel talking about supplements is completely unbiased. I look forward to seeing a video on Inositol. Thank you very much!

There is significant research supporting the use of ashwagandha for thyroid problems, too. I took it for hypothyroidism, in conjunction with amla, and found profound benefits, even to the extent that my doctor reported that I no longer needed thyroid medication. However, when I later stopped taking ashwagandha my thyroid hormones became unbalanced again, although it took a period of several years to do so. Back on ashwagandha! The amla normalised cholesterol levels.

This was very, very helpful. Thank you Doctor. I started using a vegan tablet from of this herb 5 weeks ago after about two weeks, I noticed that I am more alert, have more energy and do not "cycle" in the middle of the night which is anxiety related. I haven't had any unpleasant side effects, I am happier, less stressed out and my libido is coming back. I am menopausal, and menopause has played havoc with my metabolism and my ability to sleep at night. Once I hit the 60 day mark, I will take a one month break and decide whether or not to continue to supplement. Other research I read too is that this herb is an adaptogen and a break from it is a good idea.

I must get my bloods done again. I've been taking ashwagandha for the past 2 months mainly for anxiety. I'm post menopausal and hypothyroid also. For over a month now, not only have my anxiety levels decreased phenomenally but my night sweats have almost stopped completely. Every now and then I get a hot flush but nothing like what they used to be and far less frequent and possibly more to do with the spell of hot weather we had here in Ireland. It would be very interesting to see if it has affected my hormone levels. Great video. Thank you for this.

I take 60% MDR magnesium at bedtime and just started ashwaganda 1500 mg. I have been sleeping beautifully but of course at 63 I do have to get up and spring a leak.

I have been using Ashwaganda for better sleep since I have difficulty staying asleep. Before starting Ashwaganda I used to sleep 3-4 hours a night. However, I was consuming 1, 000 mg every night until it was making me sleepy all day long. So, after watching this video I understand those 1, 000 mg was a very high dosage for me. Because of this, I have decided to have only 1 capsule of 500 mg, which according to this video, is not the highest dosage, but not the lowest. So after I experiment half the dosage, I will come back to this video and let you know how I managed the sleepiness during the day.
