I am part of the 10th generation of my family in Detroit. My ancestors left their names on streets here: Livernois, Riopelle, St. Aubin, Campeau and DeLisle. Je me souvien de mes Racines! We kept the Nain Rouge away with the smell of cinnamon. Expectant women filled their houses with the smell of cinnamon to keep the Red Dwarf away, My grandmother used to skate from Detroit to Canada in the Winter, because the Detroit froze solid before is was dredged after Prohibition. During prohibition great uncle Riopelle sold Whiskey from Hiram Walker from his ice shanty in the middle of the river. Trucks carried cases of whiskey from Canada to Grosse Pointe Boat houses in exchange for mortgage payments to avoid losing their houses. I remember!

I didnt learn anything new lol. i was reminded of some things though, or some pieces fit nicely. like the full story on pontiac. or the french indian war and how that impacted pontiac. i lived new detroit and took a social studies class in freshman high school. later we learned the essentials of detroit in urban studies major at CSU. i did a detroit planning study project, so i knew all that. over my lifetime it all fit together the way you presented it.

that was a great presentation. i loved your voice though. and the way you pronounced words like facade lol. cute. i like the pictures and music. it was really enjoyable. i really liked it. thank you alot. really.

26:13 More shocking still was the use of a 50-starred US flag back in 1812. :D
