Here's What 30 Minutes of Walking on a Treadmill Does For Weight Loss

It is often said that the best workout is the one you will actually do. For many people, this means a workout that is convenient and doesn't require a lot of time. Walking on a treadmill for 30 minutes definitely falls into this category. But does it actually provide results?

The answer, unfortunately, is not as simple as a yes or no. It really depends on a number of factors, including your starting weight, your diet, and your overall fitness level. However, if you are relatively sedentary and are carrying around extra weight, walking on a treadmill for 30 minutes can definitely help you lose weight. In fact, research has shown that just 30 minutes of moderate exercise each day can help to reduce belly fat.

Of course, like with any workout, the results you see will be greatly affected by what you eat. If you walk on the treadmill for 30 minutes but then eat an unhealthy dinner afterwards, you are not going to see the same results as someone who eats a healthy diet before and after their workout. However, if you combine walking on the treadmill with other healthy lifestyle choices, you can definitely see some great results. So if you are looking to lose weight, walking on a treadmill for 30 minutes could be a great place to start.

I walk 3 days/ off 1/ walk 3 days/ off 1…etc. I do 50-55 mins at a 6% incline at 3.2MPH. It feels so good. I do this before breakfast and watch YouTube videos. Time goes by pretty quickly and I’m done for the day. I make sure to never have more than one day off at a time. It works for me. Don’t need to lose much weight, maybe 10lbs, but the endorphins make me feel better long after I’m done with the workout.

I walked on the treadmill five days last week. This is a new goal for myself that I accomplished. My treadmill doesn’t have an incline so each week I will increase the speed and time.

I prefer walking outside also but never if it’s hot or if it’s raining or if it’s freezing cold, so I use my treadmill very regularly. I won’t go out at night either, but I will get on my treadmill.❤️🙏

I have just purchased a foldable treadmill. I work from home and don't move around much. Very much looking forward to walking indoors everyday during these winter months. Great video.

I do 20 mins, 2x a day most days. Gradually worked up the incline to 5.5 so far. If I have a very busy day, then I do one time. Put on some weight when our gym closed, gained a few lbs & got lazy. That was easy. It's been hard getting back into the swing of things. Weight slowly coming off. Watching shows like this and others keeps me entertained while I'm walking.

For fat burning, your body burs fat in a particular order that depends on the individual with Belly fat usually last and most difficult. When you reach a plateau on the journey something may need to change and if your already in a calorie deficit its easier to increase the intensity of the cardio or anerobic exercise. But that's from the perspective of a recovering fatty!

I increased speed by doing it .1 mph per session until I got to a brisk walk for me that's 3.7mph. At 3.8 I have to jog. If you want to switch to jogging from walking and find it difficult then walk at your fastest pace with the highest incline you can manage for two to four weeks. Then flatten the treadmill and increase the speed from your fast walk by .5 mph. I've found that for me that is more than enough to allow me to jog instead of walk. I did that for 5 minute intervals at first with two minutes rest (slow walk) six times.

Hi, I'm 73yrs old.
I walk one mile every morning around blocks by my house, some level, some small hills.
I do 25 mins each nite treadmill, I've worked up to 10 incline at 3mph, no hand rails, just swinging arms back, forth.balance comes easier and i do finecnow.
And i do a 20min senior walking video right after to stretch muscles out.
Is it worth not stiff anymore, i bend easier and move easier, and my joints don't ache, i lost 40 punds too, have 10 more to go.
Don't stop moving is my advice, you will regret it if you do.

I just started walking on my treadmill February 1st for an American Cancer Society fundraiser. I need to walk 58 miles this month. It has been a few years since I’ve walked for exercise and it’s kicking my butt. I can comfortably walk at 2.50 pace with 2% incline for about 1.5 miles. I feel like I’m almost running at that pace. I am slowly getting stronger but not sure if I can make the 58 mile goal. I am also counting calories to keep myself honest. I had cancer surgery on my skull the summer of 2022 then 6 weeks radiation, I am so proud that I am doing this so I guess that’s a win win. Are 3 pound weights on each hand a good amount?

I just bought a walking pad. I love it so far. I have not been consistently working out and im 220lbs😢
I started using it 2 days ago.
I'm doing .5 mile, 13 mins at 2.1 speed at least 3 times a day.
I plan to increase the speed each week.

Walking at 3mph on a 15% incline not holding onto the treadmill for 30 min burns way more cals than running for 30 min on flat ground.

It also builds vo2 max better as well, it's far lower impact on the joints, and is way better for overall longevity than running is too.

My only struggle is feeling like a hamster on a wheel. I can watch stuff, listen to podcasts or music, etc and it does help some. But the time still crawls by like microwave minutes. 😂

I do 4 -5 hours a day exercising, which I lost 47 1/2 kilos. I use the tread mill twice a day which is 1 hour there and the rest by walking.7 days a week.I was well over 100kgs. I did do it in just over 18 m0nths. It took alot of hard work but got there eventually. My doctor thought I could never do it. Now she is telling me to put on a bit of weight, which no-one has ever told me to do. I am very happy now. I have my life back.Putting on proper clothes, not big buldgy things to hide the fat.

started walking outside and it feels great.
I also finally have a tan after 4+ years of looking like a ghost.
Regardless, I started a 205 pounds at 5'9
I walk for around 3 hours each day, or around 7-10 miles.
It feels great walking in the sun and I've only done it for 1 week now and I'm at 198 pounds.
I also do some small lifting and jogging at home. I walk outside, but use the treadmill for when I want to jog. I can only jog for about 10m before I'm covered in sweat and can't go anymore. I plan on going until I can jog for 15m, then 20m.. etc
(I'm also fasting, eating only 1 big meal a day at around 6pm, 0 meals saturday and sunday)
I plan to get to 160.
I wish everyone goodluck. It's hard to get into it, but my stress levels have dropped a lot since starting.
