The reason why Mexican isn’t usually included as it’s own region is that the DNA tests can go back far enough to detect the differences between the European/Native American/African before the Mexican grouping originated. Give it another few 100 years and Mexican’s DNA will mix to a point that it will no longer be separable into identifiable original components and will simply be a new mixture with its own label.

It’s like if I’m making vegetable soup - right after I dump the ingredients in, if I were to take a spoonful out and identify what’s there it would make most sense to say there’s a bit of potato here and a bit of carrot there, etc. If I let that soup simmer for a week though and come back and look at a spoonful, I’d just have to identify it as a spoonful of vegetable soup mush.

A guy from Canada could be 70% French and 30% Native American.

I agree with u to an extent, yes Mexican can be any race but I think we do have genetic markers that distinguish us if your family has been in Mexico for centuries for example: I’m have dual nationality being a citizen of both Mexico 🇲🇽 and 🇺🇸, and my ancestry dna test showed that based on my dna I’m most likely from northern Tamaulipas(which is accurate since both my parents are from Matamoros) so their must be something there, because ancestry could not only tell that I was Mexican but they could distinguish the state, and more specificly what part of the state my family is from

Every country has the ethnicity lik the French ? Oh im 2%French! Or im 2%British ! Mexico people are a mix of agree yes Mexican can be a ethnicity....as always nick your on to something....mexicans call themselves mexicans they could care Now me being born in New Mexico, can i say im Mexican? Or can i say im hispano Americano? What ethnicity can i say i am? Im 80%Iberian 15 to 20 %native American! Could my native American be of Mexico? Or could it be from anywhere in the Americas or how many tribes are mixed in my native American? I believe we hispanos born here since our roots have been since the Spanish layed the roots before anyone other European have a correct ness right to call our selves hispano Americano or Iberian American.... I believe its time, thankyou can't really claim Mexico because i have nobody that i can say would be my ancestors....i have nobody that i can truly say i have. Other than distant cousins on ethnicity tests but i have them all over the world

Great lecture my Mexican descent bro!, you would make a great President, but hey, have you uploaded your raw dna data to the free DNA sites (GEDmatch)? and (DNA.land)?? you will get so much better detailed results and ancient results too, it's way better than my Heritage, Ancestry and 23 and me since these 3 guys only go back about 500 to 800 years, I got tested with them too and with (Family tree) and (CRI genetics) and all 5 of them gave me way different results that I don't know who to believe but GEDmatch goes back many thousands of years back and you will find a lot more surprises than the other guys. I'm of Mexican descent too and GEDmatch is so good that it indicated that I'm Siberian in which is amazing to me since the Native Mexican indians left Siberia about 15, 000 to 20, 000 years ago, the other leading DNA companies didn't even mention Siberia and it also said I'm Australoid, which blew me away too since the native Australians went to south America and mixed with the Incas, that's how i got the Australoid in me too, so if you're of Mexican blood, you will definitely see the Australoid and Siberian side of you that you never knew you had and of course Spanish, Portuguese and Arab that you must of known already because of the days of exploration and colonization.

Ancestry DNA shows regions too. Check back with it if you haven't since the update. My ancestry test estimates which cities in England some of my DNA is from.

Mexicans are halfish Spanish and halfish Native American and some african. We want to know where our dna comes from. Of course we would know it's from Mexico if we already know we're mexican.

Using European nationalities to describe genetic labels is an absurdity to begin with. There are statistical huge genetic and phenotipical differences in Europe, but these genetic differences do not follow the national borderlines at all.
A frenchman that have all his family from Alsace or Lorrain would be more likely more genetically similar to southern Germans or swiss people, while a frenchman from south western quarter of the country ( Aquitaine, Occitania) would be lot closer to a Spaniard... both are « native french », even if this concept doesn men anything genetically speaking

...
The view of Ethnicity as separate from Race is fairly new..

I wonder the same thing about Canadians?

This might anger Mexicans themselves however as Mexicans may want to see how much ethnic Central American Indian they have in comparison to how much Spanish they have and so forth. If they saw that the person had predominate Central American and Spanish DNA, and just put it under "Mexican" they wouldn't be able to see the two percentages. They probably have considered it, however.
