I have been using Evermore for a long time. However, as a student, I realised that I gradually stopped using it to take note for lessons or anything else. It basically sit idle throughout the semester. I started to use Notion and later Standard Notes for more personal stuff.

I also use Excel and Pallet to manage my stuff. I like to use Notion to store course information and notes but apart from that it feels like a fancy Excel. So I moved some less useful notes to Excel for higher mobility and calculation.

Pallet was introduced my by teacher. We need to use it for a project and afterwards I was in love with it. It is more like a notice board but it is really great for collecting ideas. Since I started using Padlet, I spent much less time on Notion.

I'm moving away from Notion now so my life is in a chaos now. I hope I can get everything settled before February.

Google Keep - easy to use with Google Docs, Slides, Sheets, Gmail, and Calendar on my Chromebooks and Pixel phone; bright colors; searchable labels. I use it for reminders, lists, and note-taking. It syncs automatically. Also, it's free! The only drawback is its lack of formatting. That's quickly rectified by copying it to Google Docs. It's a "keeper" for me. Thanks for your tips. You do a great job with your videos.

I would also like to recommend MidtermApp. It's a new, in-development note taking app with a good text editor and some great features like the possibility to cloze text (so you have to click to see it), built-in spaced repetition, offline storage with online sync, and more. It's completely free (if you want to support it, you can donate to the author).

Still has some way to go, but I can see it replacing Evernote for me in a near future.

Also, available on Windows, Mac and Linux.

I was an avid paper planner for 3 years and I just started getting into digital planning and note taking. Its very strange but its already working for me better than the paper. This is an excellent channel and this video could not have come at a better time! (Now if only I could get the money back for the Hobonichi I bought for 2021 😬)

"The Brain"... Now with backlinks too. My favorite, by far.. Underrated

Despite all the headaches of the 'version 10' rollout of Evernote, I have to say Evernote is still my top note application. Of course, we all have different ideas of what 'notes' are - some of us notes are 'inked' notes, some are typed bits of info, for others it's document archived 'notes'... so note apps are best if they do what we need them to do. Heck, I'm even collecting a ton of "notes" inside of Todoist as I'm using a Todoist project as a 'journal' (actually, several journals within it).

Anyway, great job on the video! Glad to see Evernote still in the list!

I use Notion for my personal stuff and I use OneNote for school. Both are really good options.

I haven't actually tried them, but i tried OneNote .
For me OneNote is the best because it is not scripted, I mean it is a free style note taking app .
Other apps just look to me like Microsoft word with calendars, but OneNote is just different .

If you tried other apps and understood what I said, please tell me if other apps are the same as OneNote or not so i can try them :D

I tried Obsidian, Notion, Simplenote, but I just can't leave Evernote. There's a lot missing there, like not having bullet points (which is quite ridiculous), and version 10 is absolutely awful, making me use Legacy version, but I can't leave Evernote. I'll even try to add Zettelkasten system there... As I saw in Ali Abdaal video, I may be a librarian type.

Why you prefer dynalist over workflowy?

Amazing how little love Workflowy gets.... The devs have been killing it the past year.
Devs of dynalist are pretty occupied working on Obsidian it seems

I’m a student so my note taking is primarily geared toward that. Currently I’m using a combination of GoodNotes and Notion. I love GoodNotes for handwritten notes but ALSO it keeps all of my PDF “handouts” and PDF Textbooks organized. For notion I just love how easy it is to do toggle lists and I dig the aesthetic. I’m super interested in RemNote and Roam but I can’t get past the lack of iPad app since that’s the platform I’m primarily using.

I absolutely loved bear but it being exclusively in the apple walled garden is a total deal killer for long term use :/

The Everynote part of the video perfectly captures the feeling of using it - it stutters very much

Obsidian is also available on Linux, as a Snap!

I'm pretty happy with my current set-up of Roam, Evernote and Notion, for different types of notes. I also use Drafts or Simplenote (depending on device) for my quick capture.

Hm, I would also espect Amplenote & Nimbus Note on the list.

No Craft? Once they get the desktop version right, it’s the clear winner.
