i didn’t expect the phrase “prefers his friendships homoerotic and his romances tragic” to fit SO WELL with dark academia but the more i think about it the more perfect it seems

I love how diverse lavender's characters are. It kills me (in a good way) to see representation that isn't just done for clout, like how she gave dreamcore top surgery scars. She didn't make a big deal out of it, or try like explaining that the character is trans, they just are. And it doesn't matter that they are.

The inclusion in your designs is so nice! POC, vitiligo, LGBTQ+, and those personal, normal, human aspects aren't the focus like I've seen some from some artists outside of the specified communities. It makes me smile every time I see one of these "If ___ Were People" videos, since there's always so much inclusion!

I'm SOOO happy that you brought up the "dark" part of dark academia. I've noticed that a lot of dark academia art and Pinterest boards romanticize the insanity, like it's noble for the character to be suffering for their craft. I actually have a character that is heavily based on dark academia and I made sure that their vices (bad sleep schedule, drinking, asocialness, obsession with their studies, etc) was seen in a bad light and the point of their arc is to get AWAY from those coping mechanisms.

PS: I would die/kill for Minimalism.

I recently discovered CrowCore, which finally put a name to my actual, real-life existence, and I love it so much. It's very maximalist, with an emphasis on sparkly things, dark nature, and comfy clothes.

If you ever do another video like this, with more aesthetics, I would live to see it included. ^-^

They should all have some kind of literature club. Minimalist looks like a reader, Dark academia obviously reads and looks like someone who’d enjoy poetry, Lovecore would definitely write love poems and letters, and dreamcore can research for them on their little computer.
