I just hate how a woman can't be hyper feminine without some people trying to bother her. I sometimes feel ashamed to tell people that I really like the coquette aesthetic because of how feminine yet elegant and artsy it is. I hate how people twist everything into something else.

I can assure you most women don't do it for men. There will always be women who dress solely for men, but those girls aren't always the ones who like coquette. I would not say the comparison of lolita fashion to coquette is fair. Lolita fashion is meant to be unapologetically, genuinely, and wholesomely girly in a world that expects compliance, insincerity, and sexuality, while coquette is very feminine but purposefully includes the sexy edge. Additionally, the origins of the lolita name is up for debate and is not necessarily based on the book.
