Just need this for 3 years of college. Saw this for 649 brand new and I thought it was too good to be true. Only thing I hate is the lack of USB ports but for the price it’s worth it even in 2025.

It is still worth because you now find technical labs which are able to upgrade the internal SSD to 2TB for about 400€.

It heavily depends on allready having one (especially the 16 GB RAM version) or deciding to buy one one used from a trustworthy source. Scenario 1 allready having one its definitely worth the next years, the more RAM the more. Buying one now (only the 16 GB version) depends on the price.
If the argument is not enough horsepower then even an M4 MBA would be the wrong device and probably a MBP M4 PRO or MAX would be the way to go (Price/performance the M4PRO).
Designwise nothing is over the M1 MBA.

I loved the m1 2020. Unfortunately I didn't like the OS when compared to windows. The mousepad, keyboard, and battery were insanely good. Great laptop if you prefer macOS over windows. Change the battery every few years and you'll have a good laptop for a decade.

Had one but Refunded it and got windows. In the future I will be purchasing another one though. I like gaming so that’s why I think windows is better for that.
