Sounds like me. Your right, everyone heals at their own rate. Early on I was hardly eating anything and lost 13 pounds. I really watched everything I ate. It was hard since my wife could eat anything and she had a hard time relating to my condition, it took awhile for her to understand. I have been on pepcid and this other stuff doctor put me on for last couple months. He wants me to be on pepcid for more time which concerns me. I am feeling better but not out of the woods yet so like you, I am introducing myself to foods I avoided before. Gastritis is a real eye opener and taught me a life lesson. Be mindful what I eat and drink to stay healthy!

I do eat small meals and eat at intervals. I add carrot to my meals. I have tried yogurt . I generally have them during the lunch. Try vegetable stew, chicken stew. Add almost no spices. Very lightly cooked meals. At times I eat even boiled vegetables and rice or even vegetables boiled and and fish lightly fried and added to a soup which is very lightly cooked. I eat bananas and cucumber. That doesnt cause any trouble. Yes I do have a pain. Under treatment right now. Do help me with more tips . I will try soups for sure.

Oh my God, thank you for this video. I was diagnosed with what they think is gastritis and I’ve been taking PPI so far. I will only be on the PPIs for one month so after one month is over I want to slowly introduced new foods into my bland diet.

In the beginning I would get dizzy in the afternoon or in the evening. My stomach gets upset as well after eating so I rarely eat. I would also get strong headaches and neck pain throughout the day. I was diagnosed with chronic atropic gastritis becaus of H. Pylori infection.

Doctors gave a regimen of antibiotics and some gastric meds to heal my stomach. So far my symptoms has been improving. Dizziness and headaches is not that prevalent anymore and I’m feeling better. Hopefully I completely heal

Been having a lot of nausea and I am burping a lot when I wake up but no pain just heartburn sometimes. I mostly have nausea. It makes it hard to work sometimes.

The good thing about Gastritis is that it forces you to become healthy. Look at the bright side.

Also, lettuce causes a lot of gas.
And so does broccoli and potato.

Try steamed veggies like squash, beets, carrot, celery, boiled eggs.

Also papaya works wonders.

Gastric is not a joke, was diagnosed in January and I was not aware what was happening, all along I thought I had asthma but it turned out it was gastric got treatment but I still can’t eat spicy food or sauces of any kind and I can’t drink coffee at all but I’m glad I can now eat tomatoes and few vegetables... I get dizzy and weak at times it’s really not good since im a teacher and I stand all day... well chamomile tea really helps me and apple cider vinegar too, can’t wait to get healed really it’s not fun at all

I've had gastritis for 6 months now, I do feel better than how I felt in the beginning now, but I still have symptoms like acid reflux sometimes ( especially at night ), gas, my stomach still gets inflammed and sometimes all those things make me feel some nausea and it gets really bad because I have emetophobia ( a fear of vomiting due to past trauma with it ) and it makes me have panic attacks, this is the worst when you have a phobia with vomiting. Although I haven't vomited a single time since this started, I'm still scared because if I vomited, I wouldnt be able to eat anything ( probably for days ) due to fear of vomting again and stuff, and that will make my symptoms worse. I'm 17 and don't know what caused my gastritis yet, I believe it was nsaids and spicy food ( I doubt its h pylori. )

Thanks to you Lara, for sharing your experience. It helps me control mine, which is taking longer to heal due to overeating. From now on I'll learn from you and take smaller meals.

Potatoes are really good just boiled and better still cold from fridge. Very soothing for gastritis. Also cabbage juice smoothie is great too. Blanch cabbage first in hot water then cool and blend. Take it for a week on empty stomach. Keep in fridge. Good luck

I was diagnosed with gastritis 3 weeks ago and have been having stomach pains (cramps) for the past 5 weeks. I get it everyday, sometimes severe and other times mild. I hate it. I hate it. Besides that, every now and again, excessive belching but no other symptoms. I do my workouts and am not a junk or beverage girl. Hardly ever gets sick so I’m pissed i have this. I can’t take the feeling. My doc only prescribed motilium and omeprazole but its not helping.

I can't sit upright/ lie down without breathing difficulties. Those areas just feel so uncomfortable / swollen. When I take deep breaths the sensation there is so bizzare. Was this the same thing?

just had gastritis in june, and im healing quite well at this point. Its just that the stomach acid is still slightly on the high level, and i get hungry easily (and also slightly nauseas when i wake up) As long as i eat when im hungry, im definitely ok, no pain, no indigestion etc. But then i do realise that when its nearing dinner time, i would feel slightly unwell (than how i was feeling in the afternoon), i can tolerate less food for dinner, was wondering if there is any sources that explains why is it like this?
