Have you guys played MHW in 2024? And if so, how was your experience going back to it after Rise?
* Also, to those saying player housing was in the previous games, I mean that you couldn't really customize it like this before.

I bought Iceborne around 3 or 4 years ago when I was jobless, in a bad situation with my family, and without future. I soloed 600h cause no Internet except on my phone.

Now time passed and I have a rather good situation and walk toward my future, way stronger. Earing Seliana day theme just overwhelm me with nostalgia/ melancholy and reminds me of how this game (and franchise) helped me having good time when everything was in pieces in my life.

Sometimes it's just more than product or art. It's a piece of people. I'm so thankful to have discovered it.

This game is so beautiful!
I go back every now and then to just admire the maps beign alive and so well animated
Alatreon and Fatalis Looked and felt amazing
Shara ishvalda and safijiva are insane monsters that i really want to to see in the future.
Novas were so detailed!
So much in that game to talk about!

The best thing MHW introduced for me was Turf Wars. Just watching monsters fight each other in somewhat of a cinematic feel to it. Like you would just sit there watch them beat each other up and then you remember Jho was in the game... Just pure chef kiss 👌

I remember my friend telling me about MHW just before its BETA was coming out for the public to play. I told myself there is no way I'd get hooked on this game, now I can't get enough of the series. That same friend and I (after playing RISE) just recently bought the PC version and are planning to go through the story and experience of world again and it's definitely different from Rise.

I started playing WildHearts and with the performance issues I started looking for an alternate because I was interested in the genre. I picked up World and haven’t dropped it. Really great game. Definitely a must play.

Definitely my favorite in the series. There's a lot of QoL and attention to detail throughout the game that just oozes with the soul and love you can tell the developers put into crafting it. I also know a lot of people have their prefences and there's plenty of people who enjoy the arena style maps of the older games, but they can't really beat the living, breathing feeling of the areas of the maps in World that have seen me going out many times just to look at them and explore around. Amazing game and unquestionable high point in the series. But I do admit I've ran into the issue of trying to wire bug myself into a recovery out of a bad hit only to be hit with the sudden realization I am once again punishable for getting greedy or not misreading a move after Rise.

If they ever follow-up World with another Monster Hunter designed for more powerful systems, my only hope is they figure out how to make the engine handle more monster types without imploding their rigs.

I picked MHW on release and being my first Monster Hunter title, I didn’t know what to expect, got frustrated, and shelved it. 5 years later, I picked it up on a whim, fell in love with the charge blade and now I’m guiding friends through their LR/HR grind

As a veteran of the franchise all the way back from the freedom days. This game is absolutely the current magnum opus of the franchise. The depth scale and absolute love and attention this game received is bar none. The slinger felt very natural to add to a hunters kit. The monsters felt amazing. The weapons felt incredible. This game was truly a pinnacle and I hope we get another like it. I’m currently debating going another round

This guy was living in 2024 8 months early.

He probably got the early access edition from ea for 199.99

This is imo the best monster hunter, has the graphics, the gameplay, the good fights, the mulitplayers and quality of life up to the best standards we ever had.

Until paradise or world 2 come out, this is the GOAT for me

I knew nothing about the MH franchise and only bought World because my friend kept nagging me to buy it. 6 years and 2, 000 hrs later it has become my favorite game of all time and I still play it on a consistent bases. I absolutely love it.

Also Capcom's intimate involvement in World made the experience so much better, they used to present every title update with the head developers, having weapon design contests for the fanbase, an official speedrunning tournament which made the game more fun and enjoyable.

Small correction, as far as I know, on PC (idk about MHW on other systems) all event quests, from low rank to master rank, are always available, even when no festival is happening, the only events on rotation are the Kulve and Safi siege, which I believe are on a 2 week rotation, so when one siege isn't up, the other one is, so matter matter what, there's always a siege available

I just started playing again after beating it back when it first came out, and just purchased Iceborne yesterday. Looking forward to beating the DLC!

Once you play world and then play rise you feel like you were nerfed both grphic and gameplay wise.
