Valorant is a team-based first-person tactical hero shooter set in the near future. Players play as one of a set of Agents, characters based on several countries and cultures around the world. In the main game mode, players are assigned to either the attacking or defending team with each team having five players on it. Agents have unique abilities, each requiring charges, as well as a unique ultimate ability that requires charging through kills, deaths, orbs, or objectives. Every player starts each round with a "classic" pistol and one or more "signature ability" charges. Other weapons and ability charges can be purchased using an in-game economic system that awards money based on the outcome of the previous round, any kills the player is responsible for, and any objectives completed. The game has an assortment of weapons including secondary guns like sidearms and primary guns like submachine guns, shotguns, machine guns, assault rifles and sniper rifles. There are automatic and semi-automatic weapons that each have a unique shooting pattern that has to be controlled by the player to be able to shoot accurately.

Just started playing about 2 days ago and I'm constantly dropping 30 kill games. I bloody love this game. It is so good. I just wanna get my cross hair the way it looks when I see my teammates when I die and spectate them and I want to learn all the agents. Because there's so many and it's a little overwhelming.
I bet people that play Apex legends. Might feel the same way, but I've played Apex. Legends from season zeroh, unlike this, just started 2 days ago. But god I can see why this is a top tier competitive shooter

Dude I just wanted to say thank you for making it a big point to clarify how much moving vs standing still affects your aim. I come from games like Apex and Siege where strafe shooting is far and away the best way to play the game, and I kept trying to move and shoot every gunfight. After hearing you talk about that I went from 5th on my team every game I have played this past week, to 2nd literally the very next game. I did not respect how seriously this game takes aiming being easier while not moving.

tips for console players.. disable the forced walk while in focus. it’s a bad habit to use focus just to ensure you walk, it’ll inhibit your swings. get used to walking by pushing the thumbstick less

there’s also a setting that lets you change the walk/run threshold.

It’s nice to have a shooter us old guys can rock at on this game is a 1 to 1 copy of counter strike with powers. Launched my first game the other day brought back my fy_poolday memories and slaughtered the other team.

I’ve chosen the smooth option for the response curve, its honestly really good for me, another thing is that I turned off walk when focused. This makes you have the ability of running while focused. I know the game has awful recoil if youre moving, but I find I have much more control in medium to far range fights a lot more now that I’m not so slow while focused, this does mean you have to react quickly and even if you do it correctly you still have a 50/50 chance of dying or living but its going to make you harder to hit since youre moving faster than others can handle

Another tip for the Xbox users: If you have gamepass, it unlocks all the characters so you may feel overwhelmed on who to play/try. I'd say try them out one by one and take your time with each and try not to rush through them when finding who works great for you.
