My first game of valorant, my teammates told me my father never loved me and that all of my bloodline will die meaningless deaths

1. Get a standard crosshair
2. Try out the average pro sense of .35 at 800dpi and play around in the range of 50-200% of that sense
3. play dm to learn crosshair placement
4. practice standing still when shooting, move with a and d
- use the "practice" mode in the range to learn strafing accuracy
- go back and forth and try to hit heads right when youre switching directions
5. deny the enemy information with shift-walking
6. learn about when to buy, when to eco, when to bonus and when to force (but more importantly, if youre lazy, just buy in sync with the majority of your team)
7. learn how to use the voicechats
- learn common callouts on the maps
- typical callout for enemy position: "[name] [location], hit [damage]" eg. "cypher u-hall, hit 40" (keeps it short and unobtrusive)
- communicate macro strategies in the 30 secs before round
- communicate/coordinate utility to setup micro strats (eg. "raze, i will flash out and you can satchel site" as skye or kay/o)
- keep team morale up, have some common decency when talking to mates, they are human beings too
- bonus tip: don't copy the habit of complaining about teammates from the pros you watch. you likely dont know what youre talking about if youre below immortal!
8. stick to one or two agents in the beginning
- google "[agent name] tech" to find some common ways to use their util
- dont try to "master" an agent too early, but also dont switch agents every week
- focus on really dialing in the above steps, just pick an agent, learn the basics and forget about it until you feel like you have nothing else to improve
When you made it till here (and that is when you implemented every step that came before) you can start improving the details (you should be platinum if youve mastered all the above)
9. learn an agent you like (or a role) in-depth by watching VODs and tutorials on it
- take notes of how pros play this agent and compare it to your own games
- learn tech like line-ups and utility order
10. improve your overall decisionmaking by limit testing
- limit testing is basically like interval nesting in maths
- start from one extreme (like always pushing as hard as you can when playing duelist) and take note of the situations in which it works and in which not
- oversteer to the other extreme and take note of what you can and cant do again
- find a golden middle over time
11. VOD review your own games, take notes, compare them to pro VODS, take notes on the differences and focus on detailed points in every game
12. congrats, youre radiant

thank you cuz my first round playing Valorant my teammates said I sucked (I didn’t even know how to play rlly) and they told me it was an excuse that I was new (it wasn’t) so thank you for this! Hopefully I won’t experience that again 😭

warm up:
at range shoot bots then set them to strafe and shoot
death match
bursting then strafing

sensitivity 0.35 dpi 800
keep head level
short range spray, mid range burst, long range tap
jiggle and jump peaking at walls
first round just classic pistol and light shield, if poor get shorty, if rich, get vandal, buy together as a team

i haven’t played valorant yet (i really want to) but im scared because i have anxiety, thus i feel like the players are going to talk bad about me. It’s even worse if there’s friendly fire. Already happened in one of my Rainbow 6 gameplays. I’ve even gotten voted out just for being a beginner and i wasn’t even disturbing our team at all, i was doing more decent than anything.

As a beginner, thank you for this guide. I could finally open up Valorant a month ago since I got a better PC (my account has existed since the twitch drops for the beta) and now I'm learning it. It's been a blast.

Something that has worked for me, and I think will work for others: before learning about the nuances of the game, like economy, lineups, strategies, learn how to kill people first. Learning how to gunfight alone will improve your chances at winning in the lower ranks, or normals. After that you can refine your gameplay with the rest of the concepts laid out in this video.

I come from fps games where LMGs are king and you can just brute force shut enemies down. but here even a single headshot from Assault rifles can kill even at full shields. that at first was very new for me but since past week when I started I adopted to just wait and let the enemy make the first move that definitely helped me a lot. I started synergizing with my team more and it helped a ton

For a fresh player like me, this video tutorial is way too informative! Appreciate you for taking your time in laying out almost all of the basics in this game! Will definitely try those tips you've shared! Keep on doing what you're doing as it helps! 😊

I’m so new to fps, and I’ve been really wanting to get into Valorant after my ex introduced me to it a while back. I went from strictly playing Minecraft and The Sims to RPGs lately, I’m scared to get into fps because of the toxicity so I’m stalling getting into an actual match 💀 Watching vids like this helps a lot, not only with knowledge but also confidence so thank you for that !!

Wow time travel agent here - I haven't played any shooter in ages. I'm 37, back in my days it was CS and UT. This reminds me a lot of the first one. But a good deal more complicated through the different characters. Looks exciting. Maybe I'll watch some pros now.
