Love our Midea Duo 12, 000 BTU as well. Got ours at Costco.
Note (on AUTO mode only): Once your set temperature is acquired, the fan turns WAY down to whisper quiet and blows a wisp of cold air into the room to maintain the set temperature. When there is too much difference between the set temperature and the room, the fan switched back to a higher setting until it reaches your set temperature .

Nice job on your review - appreciate your input on how you performed the installation. It would interesting to see if your unit could be used inside a hot room, like a patio turned into sun room. The unit we purchased, the room had to be less than 80 degrees or less for the unit to begin operation. Hence, I could not use the unit in our shed since the shed temperature was above 80 when we turned on the A/C unit. Did you happen to see anything in your manual about maximum room temperature for the unit to operate?

Have you had to drain the air conditioner yet? I have one of these. Mine does not have the heat function so no heat pump. But my top drain was dribbling so I had to start draining it with the hose into a bucket. So far I haven't had to adjust the bottom drain setting.
