Just bought two of those from Costco myself (work really well) and they complement the two U-shaped window units I purchased a couple weeks ago (yes I have $$ invested). I live in Phoenix, and together they are keeping 1, 800 square feet cool enough to shutoff my central air. They should (hopefully) get me through the relentless/blistering summer after which I plan to install a mini-split to cover the living side of the house (with vaulted/high ceilings that suck energy). The nice thing about the portable units is how they can blast the air straight up/towards the ceiling which is more efficient/effective while having a fully adjustable/motorized louver mechanism that can rotate from zero to ninety degrees (I love it)...

I just bought a Midea Duo from Costco and it comes with an adapter for SIDEWAYS sliding windows that makes the connection from the hose to the window HORIZONTAL so you do not have to TWIST the hose vertically.
This allows you to simply pull out a SMALL amount of hose instead of more to allow for the "twisting" for a vertical mounting.

Turn pipe over. The heat pipe is below the intake pipe. The warm air from inside will rise and be infront of the intake. Turned over the warm air will rise away from the intake.
