Thank you for the video and for explaining the non water accumulation during summer, I have been worried when to drain the tank. Excellent unit, I agree works very well.

The vertical side mounted window hose is not optimum with the round hot air exhaust below the air intake. You should at least use the couple of inch extension on 6" round exhaust port attachment to get it away from air intake. Better yet, buy a $10 six-inch round metal duct 45 deg elbow from Home Depot. You can pound out some of the coupling ripples to make it fit snugly over the round plastic exhaust extension. This will direct the exhaust heat out and away from air intake.

The redirect exhaust elbow improves efficiency and reduces stress on unit by not sucking in the hot exhaust air back into intake.

I just installed this machine and today it is 34 Celsius with 41 humidity. THis machine cooled large one bedroom apartment in no time. I couldnt believe how Midea perfected it on speed 1 you can barely hear it. How long this is going to last I dont know but at 41 degrees in half an hour my apartment is nice and cool. It performs as good as any window air conditioner quite impressed.
I always wanted dual hose AC but didnt want 2 hoses so Midea made it one split hose which is dual hose. So far this is the AC i always needed. Easy to install

Well I can tell you for certain, I have thus same one and the summer time it cools but it pulls in mosquitoes through the intake exhaust. So make sure you have a screened in window before you use this. Otherwise the mosquitoes just stay stuck to the inside filter until you turn it off then they swarm all inside your house.

Works well when it works. Mine lasted 11 months. Media did honor their warranty.

Great video, we purchased ours 5 years ago for the AC, it works very well.

This seems almost identical to the Whynter NEX 12, 000 BTU (14, 000 BTU ASHRAE) Portable Air Conditioner sold at Home Depot. I have that and it's great. Our main AC broke broke and this saved us until it got fixed. It's going upstairs where it tend to get a little hotter than down stairs (not a dual thermostat / AC unit in the house) It was getting into the 100+ degree range and it kept our open concept living room / dinning room area at a comfy 74 deg F.

I've noticed that Amazon AC products often use the ASHRAE BTU raring standard vice the new SACC standard (slightly more realistic testing conditions). When comparing based on BTU rating, know what you are looking at and what standard they are using. You can easily bypass a good unit because they use the SACC rating for their BTU.

Toshiba has the same unit made by Midea for them. At Home Depot it's $100 cheaper. $599 I got the 3 year extended warranty from Home Depot with the $100 I saved. I love mine so far. My unit had a crack in the window section and Home Depot exchanged it no questions asked. You can exchange the unit as many times as you like with Home Depot warranty.

They have an adapter that lets you mount the hose sideways on a sliding window like that. I had to contact the seller on Amazon about it, and they sent me the adapter. Works great. But I have a Cooper and Hunter unit, but its the exact same thing (but cheaper for some reason?).

I agree, this is the best portable AC as verified by the SACC and DOE ratings. Some reviews state it had to be drained frequently, and I thought WTF are you talking about? I've had this unit for 2 years, and I've never had to drain it. I'm a sheet metal worker, so I used a sheet of white metal to make a window partition that fits my window perfectly, and then I purchased some 1/2" adhesive foam to stick to the back of it for insulation.

Nice video, short and to the point. For a second there you sounded really like Ronny Chieng.

Very nice review. I have two questions: 1. On Amazon, the white version is currently priced at $442 while the black version is $700. What is there such a difference? 2. If the plastic piece that fits into the window breaks or cracks can a replacement part be purchased?

I just had to return this to Amazon because the dual hose is too large to install in the basement.
No windows down there.
And the vent hole isn’t covered.

Every contractor and handyman showed up and said they couldn’t do it.

While i like my dual hose inverter portable ac there are a few downsides to this dual hose arrangement . It becomes very inefficient above 90 as the intake is pulling in very hot air . Also pulls back in some of the wet, hot air that is ejected . The intake hose also (will) occasionally pull in bugs . There are more but those are the bigger issues caused by dual hose set up.

Nice to know the heat mode releases more water

How low does the outside temperature needs to be for the heater to work? Can it heat when outside is very cold say 20F?

Hi! May I ask what state you live in and what your day time temperatures is like? Have you previously used other brands of portable ac? Just trying to gauge if one of these unit is suitable for me because i believe how much cold air most of these portable ac can put out depends on the humidity and where about one resides in the states.
