I like how for each installation step they pan out or quick edit so there’s no way to follow what he’s doing.

Do NOT attach the adhesive foam to your window frame like this video says. Attach it to the sliders so that your portable AC will actually be portable.

OK, just finished the installation, and here are some tips Before you start:

1- Before Installing the sliders and hooking it up to your house, consider running the unit to make sure it doesn’t rattle. Seems like a lot of feedback on this and other forums about these units rattling, maybe replace it before you completely unpack it if you get a rattler.
2- as Others have mentioned, no need to apply the adhesive. I got a small bit of it on me, and I’m pretty sure that future me would find a time machine and travel back to punch me in the face if I had peeled the backing and applied did adhesive to the frame, I’m sure it would never come off hours of scraping. Simply apply the adhesive side to the sliders, or better yet remove only an occasional section of the paper backing and have that little segment apply to the slider. Because once you click the close the window it’s not going anywhere.
3- Make peace with the fact this thing is going to be at least 10 inches away from the wall when finally installed, I was able to find a table that fit nicely above it to fill the gap and hide the ugly
4 - don’t be a doofus like me and assume that the interior ventilation tube pulls out, it doesn’t except a little, it’s the entire outside ventilation tube that pulls out and connects to the window
5- if not, too late, appreciate that when packaged, the straps are simply holding the box to the unit. Once the straps are cut, you can lift the box up and off the unit because the box arrives with no bottom. This is especially helpful if you’re like me and had to unpackage it in the parking lot to get it in a car, almost got a hernia trying to lift the unit out of a box only later out there was no bottom in the box
6. - always keep it up right, if it was delivered, and you found it on its side, contact customer support to see how long you need to have it sitting vertically before you plug it in without doing damage

Why not have a single condensate pump that pumps all condensate regardless of the mode?

I just bought this TODAY, how is this video still the best instructions, 3 years later? I can tell a whole lot of steps got skipped, and it’s gonna take me a long time to figure out each little bit that’s missing.

Please make a video that tells it to us like we’re dumb! Give it to a child or your grandma or something, and have them assemble the unit, then make that the QR code in the manual please!!

I can not stress how helpful this video was to me. I am now living in a cool comfy environment. I'm not anxious about my electric bill. I cannot take heat. I would die without this. Thank you so much.

I'm having trouble with one step in the installation of my Midea MAP14AHS1TWT DUO Smart 12k BTU (DOE-SACC) 4-in-1 Inverter Portable AC. On page 15 of the manual and at 1:50 of this Installation Overview video the attachment of the Window Kit Brace is shown. I cannot get the Brace to stay affixed to the Window Slider as it just falls off since there isn't anything to hold it up in place. I'm pretty sure I need this Brace to keep the Window Slider from bowing in when the hose is attached. What do I need to do?

I usually handle the user manuals while my husband sets up. He was so frustrated by the middle of the instructions thinking I was missing steps. "IT'S NOT ME" I was screaming. 😂 We found this video and and thought it was just as descriptive as the paper manual is. still not sure what " dry mode" means. Headed to the hardware shop to buy a longer hose for the continous draining as they only provided a 2 ft hose 😂 we haven't even got the first AC unit set up and we bought 2. It's been 2 hours. Pray for us. 🙏

Good design, a nice machine, it's amazing you fell down at showing people how to install a window panel.

I installed it into a vertical sliding window withtout the window kit brace. The hose pulled out from the window in the middle of the night. After lots of staring at the illustrations in the manual I was able to install the window kit brace. It is absolutely vital to hold the weight of the large hose into the window. I appreciate that Midae made an installtion video but they need to redo it with some close-ups and better explanation.

So most important step is attach the air conditioner adapter BEFORE you finish setting up the window slider assembly because **as it's not shown lol** it does not simply 'snap in'. Also the screw used for the adapter doesn't do anything. It won't tighten no matter how long I spend screwing it in

Question: so what happens to the outside unit that is open - how do you get to protect it from water, rain, leave etc and other stuff entering inside it

Thought i can read the manual and instructions, and agree it is clear. But still a little puzzled what is the so called outside and inside of the slider. Looks like the adhesive foam insulation sheet are attached to the outside of the windows slider, question is will it be able to last being outside taking the beating of weather? One more question, about the air exhaust adapter, it is recommended for hung windows. But after attached it to the hose, it doesn't look very air tight, not sure how it can increase performance, very against intuition. Anyway i think the video confirm what's in the manual, will try to follow instructions, hopefully outside of my window won't see some gooey crawling down after a thunderstorm. Thanks for the video, very clear direction.

We purchased one yesterday upon someone’s recommendation. The instructions are minimal and we watched this video over and over stopping along the way. It was a challenge!! We are competent capable people with high levels of comprehension. Yikes this was a challenge. We also have a horizontal swing out window so we had to figure out a way to fill in the area and then use the kit window adapters. It is finally in and operating.

It would be helpful if the video or instructions were more detailed and if there were links to alternate window style adaptations.

This video leaves so much out I am baffled. This should be a 10 minute video and actually go into all the details.

I'm having trouble grasping where to apply the adhesive foam strips. The face of the window frames? The inside edges of the frames? The sill? I could have understood from the video, if that section hadn't been film from the other side of the room.

First of all, I wanna congratulate on the genius who decided to use black materials on a black table. It’s way easier to follow.
This guy is obviously a professional, which makes it look easy, which is no help to the average person

Are you supposed to remove your screen mesh? If so, how do you prevent bugs from going in?

I called Midea Customer Support this morning, as indicated on the top page of the manual, I did not know where the 'screw' was supposed to go? I was told 'well I guess you don't need one'. The CS person did not seem to know what I was talking about when I stated that the part I was assembling was the Sliding Window Adapter. Good job!
Thankfully there are people on this youtube site with some knowledge.
