Sonny might be over the top, but I can appreciate the consistency of his Calvinism. Sonny shows the true colors of Calvinism and why any rational person would not be a Calvinist.

In my public high school English class we did a study of the Scopes trial. My teacher, a Christian, said something I still remember 30 years later: if Bryan had limited his argumentation to just what the bible said he would not have had a problem.

This video was a very important lesson for me in not extending beyond scripture. When asked about where the sin of Adam came from you (Kevin) responded appropriately. My first instinct has always been to nail down an answer, attempting to use logic, going beyond Gods word to form a justifiable conclusion. But inevitably I would get sucked into different philosophies. This was a real eye-opener for me.
The second learning lesson for me was in your response when asked whether you believed that NOT all things were predetermined by God; at first I thought your answer was a bit of a dodge, but later on I began to understand the importance of refraining from taking a negative inference as a positive belief. Once a negative inference becomes a positive belief it can be attacked. Your strength no longer comes from the word of God but what you’ve inferred from it. This is the bane of the calvinist position, and Sonny attempted to hold you to inferences as well, but you wisely did not get led astray.

Kevin you may not have ventured down this road completely knowing that this video would be the best teaching tool a teacher could ever ask for. You can literally make a hundred videos breaking down this discussion. Kevin you did an amazing job remaining cool headed and calm. Your confidence in scripture obviously helped you remain so calm. When you first brought up Romans 8 early on in your 45 minutes, he could not sit still and his lack of confidence in scripture was obvious, although I will admit his confidence in calvinism is through the roof. Great job-keep it up! Loved it and felt sorry for him.
