Do People Have Freewill if God is All-Knowing?

If God knows everything, He would know who goes to heaven and who goes to hell. And if that's the case, do people really have freewill? In this video, we do our best to give a Biblical explanation on such a complex topic.

I hate my “free will “, because I will choose sinful things. I want God’s will for me. I want to choose righteousness things.

I believe that God gave us free will. He knows the end from the beginning. That does not change our choices - it just means He already knows how we will choose. We still have to make our own choices, use our own free will, even thought He knows what our choices will be. In the end, we will not be able to say that WE did not choose wrong or right - we made the choice. He is a fair and just God!

I love your teaching skills. Yes, sadly, this is a topic of much contention in the Church. But this is probably the most concise and beneficial explanation I've ever heard in 37 years of knowing Jesus. It neither diminishes God's sovereignty, nor deifies man's autonomy. The "swing chain" analogy is great. Thank you!

Using vivid pictures as metaphors just as Jesus himself would do. It really summarized the whole video. You and your mentor really have a gift on your lives. Masterfully done!

The CRUX of the topic is;
God knows which decisions *WE* WILL MAKE.

HE didn’t make those decisions.

Man this was broken down simply and honestly and gave me a new perspective I hadn’t considered. Thank you for thoughtfully explaining your thoughts, and MOST IMPORTANTLY being humble enough to admit you may be incorrect on your position. This is the kind of open dialogue we as Christians must exhibit when engaging in this kind of discourse so thank you for sharing this. May God continue to bless the hands that work this ministry, it is much needed and appreciated!!

Yes, free will to choose is the greatest expression of his love, even the angels have free will. He knows every conceivable out come from every situation and choice you could make. His word tells us plainly, we either listen or we don't.

This is one of the simplest ways of teaching predestination I have ever heard. Great Job!

I love the “I don’t know” honesty! But we all know one thing for sure, and that’s as long as we’re in agreement of the main point, the main reason we believe then we will have fellowship, and that our speculation discussions/debates probably brings great joy & laughter to God’s heart. He does have a sense of humor, and watching us try to figure it out and possibly be right is like watching a baby figure something out on their own and a very special moment.

I believe I just realized what makes the true relationship with God, our willingness to realize that our choice affects his choice and vice versa. If we make good choices, that makes for a better and closer relationship because we choose to respect that dynamic between us.

My thoughts on this video...

Thought 1: Of course God can do whatever and everything because we are just something created by Him.

Thought 2: It's our choice what we do with our life. Indeed we are still given free will to do what we prefer. And we were also given guidelines on how to live our lives. If we choose not to follow/believe God then it is not His fault at all.

Thought 4:
Jesus is indeed the sacrificial lamb. 😢 Thank you Lord. 🙏

Thought 5:
Amen, this ties back to Thought 1.

Love how you put things in perspective. 👍 Definitely worth sharing.

You have such a calm and soothing voice, you were definitely called to do this! God bless you brother 😊

I have wrestled with this myself so many times! It's not central to salvation so I won't argue it with others, but I think your explanation is brilliant! Another point is, if we were ALL predestined for Heaven or hell, Jesus's sacrifice wouldn't have occurred. Great video! Thank you so much!

Love your talks, so helpful.
It does raise some questions...that's healthy....let us be respectful and himble towards each other...not proud or self-righteous.
Thanks again. Let's remember grace...whichever side of the fence we might be.

I think about it this way. God knows the choices and options we have, and depending on what choice you make, it branches off into a million different other choices, reactions, and consequences. Technically, based on this, God may not know what choice we will make, but he knows all of the outcomes. However, since God knows your heart, he already knows what choice you will make in the end.
