INGREDIENTS
1 pound spaghetti
1 (28) ounce can high-quality plum tomatoes - hand crushed or blender pulsed
3 tablespoons tomato paste
4 cloves garlic sliced
¼ cup olive oil
3 medium cherry peppers - seeded and stems removed, chopped
½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
½ teaspoon kosher salt plus more to taste
¼ cup basil - chopped

Your videos are so good and make me really miss New York/NJ/CT Italian food. I've been in Seattle for several years now and can't believe how much I took tri-state area ingredients for granted, from Nina tomatoes and cherry peppers to here carbs like real Italian bread, hard rolls for BEC and even legit, affordable bagels. Thanks so much for being such a culinary inspiration lately. My 5-year old boy always jumps on the couch when I'm watching your content and even demands I pause it when he has to go to the bathroom.

You are a wonderful cook. I really like that you have such an unpretentious style and are more concerned with teaching than in showing off with lots of expensive tools and ingredients. I'm not Italian but have always appreciated the simplicity of using fresh ingredients to put together a tasty and satisfying meal. Your son is so cute. That look you gave him when he was giggling about giving you an eight out of ten for your last dish was so precious. Thanks for sharing your grandmother and mother's recipes. I made this tonight. I put 3 diced anchovies in with the garlic, extra red pepper flake, used six cherry peppers, and 2 calabrian chili peppers. It was very spicy and delicious. We loved it. Thank you.

Love your videos. Also, I, too, use Barbera Frantoia (it's the only oil I use) and I am so surprised you mentioned the use of anchovy. For nearly half a century, I have been adding an anchovy filet or two into dishes for that "umami" ingredient. I also use anchovies when when creating a rub for my roasts. You are very talented. I have great appreciation for that. Keep cooking and I'll keep watching.

That young man is adorable. Both your kids are! I'm not huge on vinegar peppers in a pasta dish but I have to try this. I'll try with olives, anchovies and capers with it maybe.
