I actually found Metroid thru Smash64, never having played a Metroid game prior, and Metroid became my favorite Series after a friend lent me Metroid Fusion. And the same thing happened with in Brawl, having no idea who Lucas was (for the longest time i thought Ness and Lucas were brothers) and my friend brought up mother 3 and how amazing it was and we actually recently played through it, and it was one of the most beautiful experiences I've ever had

Ness's model is actually based on Mario's. I believe you can see this in things like the ledge attack.

unless i'm mistaken, ness wasn't the only unlockable character in smash 64 that had a completely ground up moveset, falcon also didn't have a cloned moveset. maybe he had a couple of moves that other fighters had (i don't remember but i don't think he did) but he wasn't like puff or luigi who were borderline clones of kirby and mario respectively

I'll be honest to say that now, on the official mother site, they sell lucas, claus, kumatora and duster plushies for 11, 500 yen if i remember correctly? So now the lucas amiibo is not the only lucas merch u can find! ^^

We just need more mother 3 rep. Sakurai read the script to 64, so why not incorporate elements from that?
