Not sure that the bible really teaches of a life after death, and with that a reward or punishment after death.
It feels like any arguments for the idea are either an issue of translation or something akin to a conclusion based on a range of assumptions we don’t have much of a base for.
The resurrection also isn’t needed if there is already a punishment or reward post death.
