How to update the firmware on your Canon R5/R6 cameras!

Had a fellow photographer the other day that didn't know how to update the firmware on her Canon R5, so I figured I'd put together this quick little video to show how easy it is to do it. Hope this helps someone.

1:37 You helped me out here. I was double clicking the download on my apple computer and did realize the double click shows a driver on the desktop. I am use to double click opening the file in the downloads section. Thanks for helping me when I was stuck.

yes very helpful thankyou. My issue was after I downloaded the DMG, I didn't see the progress of it opening. I think this may be the first time I updated using my M1 Max. Previously I remember seeing the progress bar on it opening the DMg and this time I didnt' see that thinking the DMg wasn't opening. I then searched the web ti find out if something is up with the M1 Max. I watched your video and saw you went to the desktop to get into the DMG. ahh, ok here I was looking for the contents to open up in a finder window right by the DMG. that simple. Thanks for this video :)

Does the R6 automatically update its firmware? I've had this camera for 3 years now and I've never updated the firmware. However, I used your instructions and when I went to update the firmware on the camera, it said it already has 1.8.2 which according to Canon was just released in May of this year. Strange!

Its not this easy for me! Downloaded update did not go to my desktop. I had to google how to find which version of mac i have.
