How To FORCE Update AirPods /PRO/MAX Firmware !

How to force update AirPods, AirPods Pro and AirPods Max. Updating the AirPods firmware is always hard as there is not direct way to do it but using these tips & tricks you can force your AirPods to update the firmware as fast as possible.

I have never heard the option to plug the Airpods into the Mac. I've always heard plug them into the charger and 'hopefully' they'll update in 30min. Plugging them into my MacBook was so easy and it was done in 5 minutes. Thank you for sharing this!

I have tried this method, whether I wait 5 mins or 30 mins nothing happens. No update to the firmware. I am using Airpods pro 2nd Gen with a firmware of 5A377. The latest firmware is 6A301/6A300, which means I am 5 updates behind. This method, as well as the the original method (which I do not see any difference) does not work. I cannot update my airpods pro by using either method, I am also experiencing terrible Microphone quality, my audio is great, but when I try use my Microphone it sounds distant, muffled. I assume this has to do with the firmware being outdated. I do however notice that if I remove my ear piece (left or right airpod pro) and put it on my mouth the sound/volume is much better and quality somewhat improved, one can at least hear what I am saying. Surely apple did not make airpods with a Mic to be used by removing it from your ear and putting it against your mouth. I did not have the setting set originally where if you remove one ear piece it turns on noice cancelation, but did test it with it on and off. Either I have no idea how to setup the airpods correctly or the firmware being outdated is causing this issue or the device itself is faulty. I bought it new (sealed in box) on 2 October 2023.

Usability world champion Apple makes it as hard as possible to connect its AirPods and a firmware update is more complicated as rooting a phone. LOL. Great video, but I cannot understand why we need such help. Strange, Apple! A nice animation when opening the case is not sufficient! They told you to "hold the case button" to connect, but never tell you to release it. If the button is hold more than 15 seconds the device resets. After that I tried several times with 5, 10, 15 and unliminted seconds holding the button. No success. Rebooting and pressing the button for 5 seconds helps. Really good job, guys. The firmware update continues the nice game 'hide-and-seek", but who really wants to play with them?
