The after photo has either makeup, lighting a filter or a combo of 2/3 of those . - former model and photographer

Hormones can make a huge difference too. Some people can have perfect skin one week and break out the next before that time of the month. Could be better to compare a whole month

As someone who has done this, drinking more water and eliminating sugar absolutely cleared and vastly improved my skin.

Finally someone acknowledged how hard it is to control sugar cravings😢

The after video looks filtered. But my personal experience is that cutting out sugar 100% improved my skin. Not only facial acne but also overall dryness - I had dry hands, elbows and knees despite moisturising those areas daily and months later realised that the dryness and flaking is completely gone. My face looks a lot better too. I'm on a WFPB diet and it has done wonders to my overall health, the skin health aspect was just a nice little bonus.

Your responses are the best. Non inflammatory, non reactive, and realistic. And your voice is calming.

When I was pregnant in 2019, I started drinking a gallon of water a day and it’s a habit I’ve kept up. (I already didn’t drink soda and only would have 1 cup of coffee or tea a day.) The changes were pretty immediate and substantial— I slept more soundly, my skin looked amazing, I didn’t get a single stretch mark, my migraines lessened in severity and frequency, my constipation subsided, and I just felt better overall. 10/10 would recommend unless you have a health condition that makes it unwise.

I ate like absolute trash as a teenager and young adult but always had flawless skin. My daughter watches what she eats, stays hydrated, sleeps on time and has a whole dermatologist prescribed skin-care routine …. But suffers severe breakouts. Life isn’t fair, I didn’t deserve it.

personally, the WORST possible thing i can do for my acne is eat bad carbs (like white bread), sugar, and processed foods. my skin becomes so clear and almost flawless when i cut back on all that stuff. all natural and healthy is the way to go. ❤️

Might be a good idea to flush your system after high sugar intakes--helps reset your palate as well--but in general, the danger of sugar are kind of overblown from the studies I've seen. It just tends to be combined with other highly processed carbs and fats, and there's often a silly amount of it (like in soda). As long as you have it in moderation and not a lot of junk for food, it's fine

I'd be curious to know where she is in her menstrual cycle.

Filter, lighting, and makeup DO do wonders!

One week? Gimme a break. I'd done no sugar for over 6 month and there was absolutely ZERO change

The second clip definitely has a filter over it, its hard to explain but i can definitely see it being slightly blurred because you can actually see the light reflecting on her pores in some spots in the first clip and in the second clip it just looks. Kinda airbrushed? So she's either wearing make up or is using a filter

I love it when people say they avoid sugar then drink a gallon of wine which is full of sugar and of course alcohol.

Well, yeah, less sugar is great, but iirc it takes longer than one week for the skin's upper lvl renewal, so like for skincare you'd have to wait 4 weeks for results. Also, ideal water intake is calculated using your body weight, it isn't necessary "a gallon", too much is never good even when it's water.

You can’t sugar down to zero though … just like you can’t do that with salt . I donno, I know a lot of women just stopped eating fruit because of sugar and calories that makes me hella sad.

To be honest Dr, I second this video. I stopped eating dairy milk chocolate about 5 months ago and there is a significant change in my skin. I still have blemishes and scars but no breakouts whatsoever. I only limit my self to one jungle oats bar once a week and oreos as well. My method is: Benzol peroxide face wash products and an external face moisturizer like CeraVe. I also apply vaseline every night before I go to sleep. Hopefully this helps someone out there. It does take time though.
