My whole life I've used windows laptops but finally decided to switch it up now that the Apple Silicone macbooks have arrived. They claim to have fixed almost every issue that has plagued macs for decades. I detail my experiences with the Macbook air M1 and MacOS sonoma. This includes the good, the bad, and the ugly. This can be considered a partial macbook air review from a windows user.

Bro your voice is special. You're gonna make a lot of money off of your voice one day.

to be honest, if you had to choose between 16gb ram or 512gb ssd then you should go for 16gb ram if you want to keep the computer for a long time and then just external ssd to solve storage issues

Swap memory with kill the hard drive faster and the messed up part is the hard drive can't be changed or upgraded. So when the hard drive is dead, the whole laptop dies with it.

Windows has added to force quit a frozen application with a single click of a button.

You can find this feature under Developer settings.

14:38 the extra cost? so youll find a better windows laptop in the $1000 price range? i think a MacBook air m1 is even way less than that.

you know that Windows and Linux can use swap memory just fine too? i mean it is not some secret sauce that only Apple knows how to use or something like that.

Good video, but you're missing several points:
I've been a Windows / Linux power user most of my life, switched to a Mac couple months ago, and to be honest I don't miss Windows. here are a couple things Mac outperforms the competition:
- simplicity
- ease of use
- performance
- stability
- optimization
- security

although some apps are not available it depends on what field are you talking about, I'm an electric engineer and there are many professional apps that I have to run on a PC but aside of that there is no point on coming back to Windows.

BTW did you break the Mac Screen??

Well said.

I also run a lot of emulators, older software, Microsoft Office, and play games too. Apple doesn't care about running older software and wants you to buy a new machine as fast as humanly possible. Microsoft better values keeping things running for a while. Newer software does not always mean better. PC's are industry standard for business computers and if you plan on using your laptop for work, a PC will likely be more on the same page of what you need at work than a Mac.

The most important things I do with my computer are software synths (VST's) for my bands. Windows offers more synths, better compatibility with older ones, and you can get a decent laptop with a modern processor, and far more ram & storage for large collections of sampled sounds on a PC for a much more reasonable price. Also, there is a lot of software I use for various things that simply doesn't exist for Mac, and it won't run through Boot Camp or Parallels either.

General tasks like web surfing and very basic stuff isn't going to make a big difference if you use a PC or a Mac, nor do you need a high end system on either for that. Either can do the job just fine. Ideally, make sure you have 16 gigs of ram for either. Don't believe Apple telling you 8 gigs is the same as 16 on a PC.

Bottom PC is a better long term investment unless you plan on selling your computer quickly (Mac's do retain value longer). I typically buy used, but not old, laptops and used PC's that are not new, but not very old, are an incredible deal on the 2nd hand market. Decent quality video editing might take more than a run of the mill PC to compete with a Mac. And Mac's are certainly better for battery life, but I'm usually plugged in.

I think people should also be aware as they're shopping, in a YouTube video titled "Most Popular Operating Systems (Desktop & Laptops) 1978 - 2023", it shows that despite the praises of Apple silicon (M series) Mac sales have been declining for the past two years while the leader, Microsoft Windows, has been gaining in market share. PC's are here to stay. Sorry Apple.

Im seeing a huge wave of ppl changing to apple computers . Almost all of my friends are changing to apple computers.
Windows is almost dead, everyday it gets worse and worse, specially the security, ive heard its not core coded in usa anymore and there are lots of backdoors designed in it to use for political porposes for that country.
I think im gonna change to apple too
