I've been looking into lordship salvation since I saw a few videos condemning John MacArthur and R.C. Sproul as heretics. Mu conclusion is the same as yours. It is describing the sanctification process and the work of the Holy Spirit in a believers life. I don't see where it is adding to the Gospel acts of work.

I think it's a self deception. You might say that you're saved by faith alone, But if you believe change is a necessary outcome, then your assurance no longer can rest in Christ. Hence your trust in not in Christ alone. If I already trusted alone in Christ and is finished work for salvation, Why do I need to worry about how the spirit is working in me or how I've changed ? That's not part of my salvation.
This is why lordship salvation is heresy.

You’re much better off just doing this, preaching the gospel, instead of trying refute every preacher in the world. Stay in your lane and just teach what God has given you to teach, and worry about other preachers, because that’s not bringing anyone to Christ.
