A staunch Lordship Salvationist once told me: "God has given us a NEW MIND so a Christian should not sin or ever backslide or they are not Saved to begin with". Yes, God promises us a new mind; but not a new flesh! The Apostle Paul states in Romans 7:24, 25... "O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin." Proponents of Lordship Salvation are woefully blinded to the fact that every believer still has to contend with the carnal flesh. Oftentimes, as seen repeatedly from Genesis to Revelation, God's children falter. Does not Proverb 24:16 declare... "For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief"? Christians do falter in their faith at times. At best the Christian life is a rollercoaster.

Bottom line for all of you folks here for whom Jesus died is that we LOVE God and LOVE each other. If you trust Jesus and love people you will live kindly and will stop sinning. It isn't a "work" for the purpose of gaining entry into heaven (for me anyway). It is simply submission to my Lord, wanting to be pleasing to Him, and obeying Him. It's a lot of fun being nice and generous. I've never been more free, content, and joyous.

There is a raging battle in theological circles today over the issue of LORDSHIP SALVATION, i.e., the false teaching that a sinner MUST forsake their actual sins to be saved. No such hellish doctrine is taught in the Word of God. Proponents of this heresy pervert the Biblical meaning of the Word "repent." Whereas the Greek meaning of the word "repent" is METANOIA, meaning "to change one's mind"; Lordship Salvationists claim that it means "to forsake your sins." Even without looking at the Greek, the Bible even in English has no such teaching. The Bible always speaks of repentance TOWARDS GOD, and not from sin. Acts 20:21 says, "Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ."

Lordship Salvationists DON'T allow for a Christian to backslide. As far as they're concerning, a backslidden believer is no believer at all. This is adamantly refuted in the Word of God by numerous references to heroes of the faith who backslide into horrible sin (such as king David who committed adultery and murder). The foolish doctrine of Lordship Salvation leaves absolutely no allowance for a believer to backslide. Like it or not, there is an ongoing raging battle in EVERY believer between the sinful flesh and the Spirit of God (Romans 7:22, 23; James 4:1). Even the Apostle Paul said in Romans 7:19, "For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do." Now why would the Apostle Paul DO EVIL if Jesus were his Lord and Master? Hmmm? This Scripture alone proves the willing ignorance and hypocrisy of the proponents of the Lordship Salvation heresy. Even the best of Christians, such as the Apostle Paul, commit sin.

WOW! "Beautifully explained" is an understatement. If I could only have a portion of his understanding and ability to articulate that understanding.

He might as well have just answered "I have no clue what I'm talkin about here but I've got a couple of minutes of airtime to fill up so I'll give it a shot".

I have noticed the last several posts on various videos against calvinist dogmas that a calvinist/baptist will make one post, and when a comment is made to that post they do not post back.

I have deemed this a "hit and run tactic" which is fine by me, because if others also post against the calvinist/baptist dogma on the same thread, then the comments against their dogma will tend to stack up, and if their "hit and run tactic" is on purpose, the evidence against will stack more and more and that will be that.

Can a person be stranded on an island with just the book of John to read and be saved? If your answer is yes you believe in Grace, if you say no, then you believe in works. It's like oil and water they with not mix!

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord, ’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but HE WHO DOES THE WILL OF MY FATHER who is in heaven will enter. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you who practice lawlessness.’ Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine AND DOES THEM, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the Jesus' closing words, Sermon on the Mount

Paul is very clear that a sinner must belive that Jesus Christ is LORD, BEFORE they are saved!

" 9 Because if you confess the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth one confesses unto salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, "Everyone believing on Him shall not be put to shame." 12 For there is no difference both of Jew and of Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call on Him. 13 For everyone, "whoever shall call on the name of the Lord will be saved." (Romans chapter 10)

"29 Then asking for a light he rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas. 30 And leading them outside, he said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? 31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved, and your household. 32 And they spoke the Word of the Lord to him, and to all who were in his household" (Acts chapter 16)

You CANNOT have Jesus Christ THE SAviour, without Jesus Christ THE LORD!

LOL. That caller left more confused than he was before he called. That’s what a false Gospel will do to a person. Lordship Salvation is a works-based Salvation dressed up in a pretty bow. What we need to do is trust in what Jesus did for us on the cross as the fully sufficient sacrifice to cleanse us of our sin guilt. Then we are saved. Salvation is a simple, free gift. After this, it’s a great and reasonable thing to turn from sin and learn to do good, but we do not do these things to be saved - otherwise we’d be trusting in our works (our performance) to save us, and salvation can never be had that way. Trust in Jesus alone for salvation and don’t listen to this guy in the video. He sounds sweet, but he puts deadly poison in his puddin’ he feeds people.

OSAS isn’t our doctrine, but it’s sound doctrine taught in the Pauline epistles in the King James Bible.

In order to justify lordship salvation you’d have to cherry pick verses OUTSIDE of the Pauline epistles, out of context, directed for the tribulation saints or Jews, NOT the church.

The whole Bible wasn’t written for Americans. It’s written for the world, for all different time periods. (Old Testament, Church Age of Grace, Tribulation, 1, 000 Year Millennium)

That’s why there are verses that are stumbling blocks to those who don’t study the words (2 Timothy 2:15)

It elicits the false teachers.

But true Bible believers know sound doctrine, and if it contradicts Pauline epistles, then they are sitting in the WRONG PEW!

1 John 5:13 “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may KNOW that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.”

This guy is Lost!!! He is not quoting the Bible he is teaching Works. Salvation is 100% Jesus. Romans 10:8-13
[8]But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
[9]That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
[10]For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
[11]For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
[12]For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
[13]For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. The Bible does not say to be Saved you must Repent of Sin, we must turn from Sin, we must make Jesus the Lord of our Lives. Jesus is already Lord. You cannot make Jesus your Lord because he already is.

This is correct. Those who go against this or dont understand it means they ve not experienced or done the baptism of Holy Spirit or even fully immersed water baptism I believe. Or they are only water baptized but not baptized by Holy Spirit thus they can not discern spiritually.
