Note - at 5:30
By inbreeding - I meant that we need to breed organisms of similar species who are genetically similar - most of the times in captive breeding this is what’s done because at a particular time we assume that only one species is being bred in a specific area - we are trying to breed large numbers of that species that’s why we are doing inbreeding - otherwise there would be no point of captive breeding since we have to increase the numbers of those organisms before reintroduction into the wild/ natural habitat

10:18 in most question of digestion where they ask to describe the process in detail, it is a good idea to use good terminology to show the examiner that you have a very clear understanding of the concept. In this ans for example, terms such bolus of food, peristalsis in the oesophagus, chyme, chyle could be used (although not specifically required as the question is concerned with carbohydrates). Also, the pancreas release pancreatic juices which contains pancreatic amylase which catalyses the hydrolysis of starch to maltose . When talking about mechanical digestion, it is also useful to talk about the stomach. Indeed the stomach is involved in chemical digestion, but also in mechanical digestion: by the rumbling/churning process. As you rightly mentioned, villi and microvilli increase the surface area in the small intestine; you could also mention about the rugae in the stomach which also help increase the surface area. In addition to that, the convolution of the duodenum, jejunum and ileum also prolong the duration for which the substrate is in contact with the enzyme and also provides more time for absorption. The absorption of glucose is by diffusion and active transport. Also, carbohydrates not only include starch. There are other carbohydrates as well. You could simply mention lactose as an example and say it follow a similar process to starch but that the enzyme involved by lactase.

Your answer is also brilliant and would achieve a high mark. But as my teacher told me, you must not give your examiner even an opportunity to cut a mark anywhere even if they are in a grumpy mood.

I really have a hard time understanding bio paper ms, this helped so so much... But just a small doubt at 3:51, aren't the sickle cell allele and normal allele codominant? I believe that is why the notation is in superscript and not upper and lowercase letters...
