You didnt state that the pure water that the animal cell is in is hypotonic (low solite concentration and high water potential) hence, water gushes into the animal cell as water with low solite concentration

Bro pure water is H2O when it is pure it contain no mineral means mineral from cell will move into water because they move from area of higher concentration to lower concentration the cell will be squeezed😶
