I once overheard an american lady in an european supermarket commenting loudly about how christmas items are again so early been deployed into the market while its still a long time until christmas and so on.. At first I was confused because in my part of the world not many people do this (i.e. trying to initiate smalltalk). But I saw it is an invitation to join a smalltalk. Had an absolute blast of a conversation and both of us went out of our comfort zones. Me because I have never done this before and her because she probably didn’t anticipate the conversation to become this deep. Made my day
