On a stormy night, college junior Allie Prescott thinks she can make some easy money by house-sitting. Her first job is at an expensive mansion owned by architect Lloyd Townsend, who is on vacation with his wife Madeline in London. Feeling uneasy, Allie calls her friend Carole for company. While talking, the TV suddenly shows a man mixing concrete in a basement. Allie changes the channel, but the TV keeps flickering back to the same footage. She goes to the kitchen to get food and turns on the kitchen TV, only to see the man in the basement again. She unplugs it, but continues to hear the shovelling audio. She follows the noise to the basement and finds a camcorder with footage of the man shoveling. Turning on the lights, Allie realizes that she is in the same location as the footage of the man. She finds a small door and opens it to find Madeline Townsend pleading for help, claiming her husband tried to bury her alive. The police are called and Lloyd Townsend is arrested for attempted m3rder in Europe.
