I was buried alive in the ground for 4 minutes when I was 14. I could not inhale for 4 minutes. It is far worse than you think. The inability to breathe was the worst fear ever. I was knocked out for part of it. The waking up to the reality that I was buried alive & couldn't breathe & was going to die there was ... well... indescribable. I still have the laminated newspaper article to prove it.
