Elon Musk unveiled long-awaited prototypes of a Tesla Inc. robotaxi called Cybercab, saying production may start in 2026 and that the vehicle could cost less than $30,000.

The chief executive officer hitched a ride in one of the two-door sedans on his way to the stage at the carmaker’s event late Thursday in Burbank, California. Musk also showcased a futuristic-looking Robovan concept that he said could transport 20 people at a time.

liability issues and regulatory issues will make the launch of this on regular roads a nightmare... this is going to take 5-10 years for real launch at best... the idea is good but with unpredictable roads and kids and dogs ...he is thinking of life in mars so when people live in mars this will be possible as the roads can be designed to support automation and musk will have the key to this new world...with all his gadgets.... Mars will be renames as Planet Musk

It's huge. We will be able to tell our grandchildren that we witnessed the birth of the bus. Elon explained in a very simplified way that traffic on the roads will go down if people start using this new invention that can take 20 passengers! It's hard to grasp but I trust Elon.
